*sigh*

stupid, stupid, stupid cold weather. over night below freezing temps doesn't make for good conditions for my poor little flowers. i get it, i'm not in california, i'll play by the rules for living in an area where it's 7000 + ft altitude. *sigh*

v-if you put a sheet or something like that over the top of the flowers if you think that it's going to freeze then it will keep the frost off of them and that won't happen. also in utah the average frost free date is on mother's day weekend...that gives you kind of a guide to go off of. there are your gardening tips of the day :)

Leah spayed my plants that had just broke ground with round-up this week. Oh well, I like to go to the nursery.

Sorry they froze to death. That's how I felt in the cold while living there! :) At least you got a great picture of them posted before they died, now you can go back and look at the picture anytime you want to see flowers amidst the freezing temps!

Your weather is scaring me about moving there. Anyway, things are not the best in CA either. The weather cannot make up its mind if it is spring or summer here. We get a few hot days and then chilly again. No rain though so that is good. We have the squirrels and deer to contend wit has well. Flowers really have to struggle a little everywhere it seems. Sorry about your flowers...soon you can have some that will last.

V-

Just so you know, we can't plant flowers here at 7000 ft. until after Memorial Day. I PROMISE you they will freeze unless you take them inside EVERY night. Even after Memorial Day, you have to cover them at night until the 2nd week of June.

The rest of Utah is like a month ahead of us for planting.

Why are they selling flowers already at the local IFA? I have no idea.

You CAN plant peas, and lettuce around Mother's day 'cause they like the cold.
