EEK! Two things...

Well maybe a little more than two things…but first things first…COLOR THEORY FABRIC IS IN THE HOUSE!!!!! Your local quilt stores should be getting it any day if they haven't already gotten it! And the patterns to go with it as well! Find all my patterns here. Woooooohoooooo!!!!! ALSO that means that the pink ombre is finally back in stock and you can start making the I Heart You quilt you've been waiting on the fabric for!!! If I only had a nickel for every email I've gotten with the words "where in the world can I freaking get this pink ombre fabric?! It's no where anymore and I'M HOLDING YOU RESPONSIBLE FOR MY FRUSTRATION!" haha well not really just like that BUT I heard you and we got it back in stock at MODA. :)
And to celebrate because lets face it we're all very happy the pink ombre is back…lets give a discount on the I heart you pattern. how about 25% off with the code LOVE at check out. :) this discount will go on through Feb 14th :)

Okay so that was number one. And number 2 is this:
My Simply Color books: RED advance copy came in the mail…and as you can see I have some stuff in the works with that. More info on that selection of fabric coming in February. I'm so excited that these books are finally getting ready to ship! Red was super fun to work with and I can't wait to keep giving you more and more sneak peeks of orange, yellow, green, blue, and purple. :) You can order the whole series here
for a limited about of copies (of the series) you can get the whole series for $70. (there's only a few left though I think) so go quickly. :)

Also my oldest is learning to drive. Its worse than being on a roller coaster for the first time. He's doing a lot better and so am I but it has not been unheard of my feet hitting the dashboard while yelling "WE'RE GONNA DIE!!!" to which my husband and my son and the other children look at me and say "MOM, seriously…relax a little." I CAN'T OKAY?! I JUST CAN'T!

..So if you're the praying type please say a prayer that I survive my nerves of being the passenger in a death trap with a 15 year old at the wheel. Even though my family thinks I'm over reacting...Thanks.

2015 already

Sawtooth baby quilt using V and Co. Ombre Navy and what I'm working on right at this very second :)
What the heck happened to 2014? I can't even believe that we are now looking at a new year. This last year was a hard one for me...a parent passing away, our beloved dog passing away, putting our house back on the market in Utah, wonderful family members having to go through serious surgeries and some of them having complicated health issues, and all the other sprinkled in there trials of stress, that go with said things.
But it was also a wonderful year. I released a

new fabric line, which ships to stores in the next couple of weeks!

I also announced my hard cover book series: Simply Color:A Crayon Box for Quilters and red is on its way to release soon!!!…Later on this year I'll be showing the last three colors to complete the rainbow in the series. I've been working on new fabric lines, along with new ombre colors :) this year is looking to be a busy one again.
This last year My oldest started high school, and got his drivers permit (holy crap that should be considered torture to sit in a car driven by that young of an individual…also scares the crapola out of me thinking there are other cars out there being driven by said youngsters!!!) . We now have two teenagers in the house My youngest two are 10 and 8.

We rounded the end of this year visiting the husband's parents in Salt Lake City. We hadn't spent time in Utah since we left over 3 and half years ago. It was nice to be there.
Salt Lake City Temple
But because we spent some of it driving to and from Utah and spent some time there...it actually made our winter vacation too short. Tomorrow the kids go back to school, and that's going to be a rude awakening. I don't think any of them have gotten up before 9 this whole vacation except on Christmas morning when they got up at 7:45 yikes.

This year has seemed like a roller coaster. The husband and I have a few more gray hairs, and are continually holding on to dear life just wondering when it's going to slow back down. Will it? I actually started crying the other night when I realized I only had 3 and half more years before the oldest goes on a mission or goes to college somewhere. It's bothersome how much it's bothering me now that they are growing up so fast. Must be that I'm leaving "little infant spit up on you never have a moment to yourself stage" to the "please don't grow up so fast, and why don't you hang out with me stage." But all is well, they are turning into fine young individuals.
During my trip to Utah and back I bound like nobody's business

All in all it's been a year of learning through many high points and a few low points.
Here's to a fresh New Year of highs and lows…and continual growth.
No resolutions for me, just keep on keeping on with what I've been working on improving all along. :) Watch for a new post on Wednesday I've been making a lot of stuff, and I'll show one of them on Wednesday.

New Fall V and Co Patterns

Hi there! I'm finally ready to show you my new patterns for this fall! I'm very excited about them and we've been working really hard on them for a while. :) Ready?
Okay first up we have Super Star:

Super Star uses every single print in the line. YES, every single one minus the ombre gradients. It's Fat Eight friendly and is a very fun bright quilt and easy to put together.

My daughter really loved it in her room for the afternoon it sat in there so I could take pictures. She was a little cross with me when I started to take it down and put back her room how it was before.
This quilt consists of HSTs and squares, and would be a great and easy pattern to teach from or to tackle if you are on the newer side to quilting. Or if you want a fun and fast quilt to make this one is a good one to tackle. :)
It comes in one size: Medium Throw 64" x 80"

Next is Fadeaway:
This is the first of the two patterns just using the gradient ombre fabric in my line. It comes in two sizes: Baby 48"x 48" and Medium Throw 64"x 80" .

In the pattern we give you instructions on how to cut the fabric and place the fabric to give the quilt a neat effect of fading from dark to light in the quilt. This is one of my favorite quilts I've made…but I think I say that of a few of my patterns every time I show them off. Whatever, it's a favorite! :)

This baby size is 1/2 yard pre-cut friendly…yes, you can order 1/2 yard precuts of just the gradient ombre and make this baby quilt. It would be the perfect baby quilt for your nursery, or to give as a baby shower gift. :)

Then there's the quilt that is HANDS DOWN my favorite quilt ever…Ombre Lonestar:
Again just focusing on the ombre gradient fabric…I wanted to create a quilt that would really show the gradient fabric together and to show it off in a spectacular way. I had this quilt in my head for a long time, and I finally got it in fabric.

And of course it looks quite spectacular on an Iowan barn.  :)
 ...and in my home. :)
This quilt is 64"x 64" square uses all the gradient ombre fabrics…and is down right spectacular. :) Ombre Lonestar Quilt PDF

last but not least we have our zipper pouch this time around with some yummy texture the Honey Comb Pouch:

Since I started making zipper pouches, I've been hooked to them and can't make enough of them. I make them in all different sizes so I can carry lots and lots of stuff, and feel organized
This  time around we made the larger pouch large enough to carry a LARGE Aurifil cone and your pin cusion and rotary cutter and some fabric and whatever else you can try to stuff in there. The smaller pouch fits threads, scissors and whatever else you need as well.

I would have to say that this is my favorite zipper pouch pattern I've made. and can't wait to make a few more of them in different colors. :)

V and Co: Just a few things

Summer has come and gone, and as much as I'd like to say it was a relaxing summer, I can honestly say that this summer has been a blur and I can't even believe that we are already in the 3rd week of school. I've been busy with the books (which we will talk more about as fall market comes around.) And I've been sewing and creating patterns for this next fabric line Color Theory. Later on I'll show off the fabric a little more and talk more extensively about the patterns associated with this line. But just as a small show and tell here's one of the patterns called "Honeycomb Zipper pouches" I love this pouch and can't wait for all of you to get a chance to make it! By far my favorite zipper pouch I've made thus far.
Color theory will include the junior jelly rolls of ombre gradient fabric (we heard you!!!!) And I'm super excited to show you what patterns I've made with this line and to show off the gradient fabrics as well. I really am so excited to show you! We're just waiting on quilts getting back from quilters so we will be able to show off the quilts and release patterns. :) Soon!!

And also watch for a cute little package of Color Theory Aurifil Threads and Moda candy (40-2 1/2"x 2 1/2" squares) and a free pattern to go with it. :)
All soon. :) And if you are going to Fall Market, by all means come on by and check it out in person, cause me and all of Color Theory will be there. Talk to you soon. :)

Color Theory and my new Books

So this is my newest and 4th line for Moda Fabrics I have to admit I've had NO TIME to write up a post about it! (and it's in the works so i can show you some of the fun designs in this collection!) i've not been able to write much these last while mainly because I'm in the middle of sewing (with children around because they are still on summer vacation) for this fabric line, and because I've been in the middle of also sewing and working on my books (yes bookS):
you can pre-order these awesome hard cover  RedOrange, and Yellow Simply Color books now from Amazon for delivery date of spring 2015. Then watch for green, blue and purple/gray later on this next year as well.
It's been a really long, big project, but I'm super excited about these books. In them you will find quilts and projects focused on the color of the book. I love focusing on single colors (I've mentioned this a time or two how my favorite projects I create focus on one to two colors at a time) so this was a no brainer of an idea for a book series. The publisher for these books is Lucky Spool Media. More pictures and information on the book will be dished out later on. The photography in the books is fantastic! I'm so giddy over the photography I wish I could just show it to you all now. But we have to wait.

So with that little bit of bean spilling…please know I'm almost done with a few things so I can properly do a post like I did for Color Me Happy and of course to show off some of the new patterns that will go with color theory as well…and soon!
*catches breath for a second*
We'll talk soon. :)
