well did you do it? did you gain a little more control on the clutter and crap?
this last week the kids and i tackled their closets, drawers, toys, and "treasure" drawers.

this time i want to talk about how to get the kids to help.

one way to get my kids to help with the process is to let them know that no "new things" can enter our home, or toy bins without getting rid of something that has seen better days or things that are no longer used. we've been doing this process for a few years. i want to say 5 to 7 years. they have essentially grown up knowing that this is how our house works.
they also know that mom is on a weekly/daily cleaning schedule and this summer we've been working on getting everyone involved so they can learn to be able to do it as well if need be do it on their own as well. hopefully not but i'm trying to set them up for the future. next in the next few weeks i'll talk about that said schedule. it's been tweaked here and there and it works great for our family. of course it will have to be tweaked again once school starts next month.
but we'll talk about that later on.

well two weeks into summer and i'm here to let you know i'm surviving.
actually it's been a lot easier to get up and get out of the house this summer more so than other summers.
i think it's because my kids are getting older.
but with it being easier to get up and go places, it means it's harder to blog.
story time, going to the pool, seeing how many times during the week i can make fudge, playing baseball in the back yard, adding landscape to the back yard... and oh yeah going to the doctor for split eyebrows, heads, and sinus infections (that last one was me!)... yeah and the doctor thing was ALL this last weekend alone. ah!
so with all things going on, i've done minimal sewing, and it seems even more minimal blogging.
um sorry? but not really? i'm really enjoying hanging with the kids and with no real agenda.

i did before all things fell apart this weekend make a few more stars. but smaller. cute huh? i have a plan i swear. and i'll take you along for the ride. i'll give you the measurements later on for the smaller star but for now lets have you link up your projects you've been working on.

so my boys have been begging for jedi robes.
for like ever.
last week while i was tired and probably half asleep boy #1 had a conversation with me that i can't remember for the life of me what was said in it, but at the end i did the "pinky promise" to seal the deal.
oh crap what the...what had i just promise to?
apparently i pinky promised that by the end of the week i would have made and outfitted all three male noisemakers under the age of 11 with a jedi robes.
nicely played my friend nicely played...

i've been working on a lot of other things. yes i have. and yes it's been rather quiet on the V and Co tutorial front...but there is a reason. in due time, made known to you, it will.
but for now here's what i've worked on this week.
three jedi robes for the boys...and one jedi robe for the girl...only because the first jedi robe for the third noise maker was too small. so she got it and wore out in town. she loves it and calls it her "sen-sen rofe" which translates out to "princess robe" because hello princess leah and hello padme before she's made queen or after or... whatever...i'm not the nerd in the house.
and so here it is the first ever "link me up" post i've ever done.
