my morning walks

i go walking in the mornings, bright and early.
well it used to be bright and early.
these past few days i've been noticing that 6am is getting darker and darker.
every day it's like it's taunting me just a smidge bit more "summer's almost behind you."
seriously where did summer go? we're now talking about back to school shopping, fall crafts, and getting back on schedules from lazy relaxed summers...
really?
already?
before you know it we'll be harvesting apples and then pumpkins!
mmmmm pumpkins.
i love anything pumpkin...
well everything but what pumpkins represent...
winter is only one season away.
i'm so not ready for that.

thankfully we still have fall in between us.

We were just talkin about how the yard is still GREEN...usually by now it's dry straw like stuff.. we have had so much rain this years it's crazy... (Ohio) I love when things turn colors for the winter.

Your pictures are so pretty. Watch out, or we'll all decide to up and move out to the middle of nowhere with you! I'd live where you are in a heartbeat, it's gorgeous. As long as they had a movie theater. And a fabric store. And a blockbuster. And a Target. Ok, maybe I'm not cut out for country life!
Hey so, I wanted to ask you for the name of your longarm quilter neighbor. I'm just about to finish my pinwheel quilt and I was thinking of sending it to her to quilt b/c I liked how she quilted yours. Do you remember how much she charged you? If you could email me her info to me sometime that would be great!
Thanks,
Elisabeth

I love the seasons too. You very lucky to live in a place you love, with scenery you adore. It's great to get out and enjoy the creations of God and see what he has been up to. Just remember,,after winter, all things are new again and that's exciting!

Oh don't remind me. I hate seeing the days get darker! Spring, summer and Fall I love, but winter should end the day after New Years. I love the early light of summer. Seeing it slowly fade...sigh, I'm just not ready.

I was just thinking the same thing the other day. Stupid winter.

Lovely pictures! I am getting ready to do a post on the area I walk each morning ~ too funny!

It feels like fall when you walk in the stores and see all the cold weather clothing, fall decore and the other day I saw a Halloween shirt! Slow down, I want to enjoy the rest of summer!

Beautiful pictures.

Jo

Hey, V! Can you post a tutorial sometime on how you make your photos so big? Love you...it is beautiful out there in the middle of nowhere! You are so right that summer has flown by in a wink. And that you are lucky!

I walk at noon hour and will try and remember to take my camera with me so that I can get some shots of what I see everyday - what a wonderful idea! Everybody has such different landscapes and things to see. The crops are all still standing tall where I live right now, but any day they'll be laid flat and that is my indicator that Fall has arrived. Sucks! I'm not prepared for Winter just being around the next corner. - Marlene

How is it that summer flies by and winter creeps by?

Wow, what a great idea--early morning walks. I grew up in a small farm town in Idaho, and your pictures take me back. Now I live in Washington, DC with my young children, and I wish so much they could live in the country. Great pics! Maybe I'll take them to Mt Vernon and pretend we're in the country! ;)

Beautiful place to walk. So serene and inspirational!

Oh how I wish that was the scenery I could see on my walks besides rows and rows of houses. I miss the tranquil moments of the country life. I just spend a weekend at my cousins house and she is out in the middle of nowhere, the drive there was relaxed and the moments spent on her property were peaceful. But DH did not like the country life (we tried it one of our moves) and he was itching for the city life where I was content being 30 minutes from the hustle and bustle! Enjoy! And thanks for sharing the pictures.

Amen to sediments about hanging on to summer......I love the fall, my only sadness about it is, that it lasts such a short time....I. Do. Not. Like. Winter. So I'm never ready for its approach. In our neck of the woods, not only has 6 become darker,it has become down right nippy too!
Love the pictures. I Love living in the back of beyond, don't you?

i *love* that last pic of the barn enveloped in the trees with the water....just booteefull :) but i DO think you're a little crazy for going for 6 am walks. (not really, more like jealous, i guess....i wish i was more of a morning person but i am a night owl by nature.)

and though i will be sad to see our *gorgeous* WA summer end.....winter means SNOW in the mountains and skiing! woooot!

You live in such a beautiful place. We have a highway in our back-yard {yes, a real highway}. But we a a beautiful view just above the neighbor-across-the-street's trees of the sunset.

Oh, I love your pictures. The scenery is wonderful. Season are wonderful, even though I live in a place where it is practically summer 9 months out of the year. And you are right, pumpkins are the best. I pretend that fall is coming even where I live. Enjoy your walks.

V...thanks for letting me come on your walk with you. I am a nature/scenery/stuff like that lover, too so I super enjoyed the snapshots. I am a teacher so when August rolls back around I start to get ansy about not being stressed but to really "enjoy" the rest of summer. School doesn't start for us until Sept. 9th so I am trying to remind myself everyday--it's still summmer--enjoy.....say it again...you get the picture! Have an awesome day!

These photos are really beautiful. I love the scenery there. Early morning and late evening are so amazing around here during Sept/Oct/Nov.. something you just can't find in Texas where I'm from!

Almost everyday when I walk outside to water my plants, I say out loud that I hope winter's not coming back anytime soon because I'm not ready to say goodbye to my garden.

Do you need a walking buddy? lol Your morning walks are gorgeous!

I love to watch the seasons change. I don't care that much for winter (devastating ice storms last year) but I do love Fall.

Wow, it's beautiful out there. Whoever said that Utah is just a boring old desert has never been to your middle-of-nowhere.
Oh, I guess that'd be us. Because it REALLY is the middle of nowhere! (Seriously, no Target? How do you SURVIVE?)

Oh, I'm so ready for fall...I walk in the mornings too...only it's usually 95 by 6:30 a.m. when we set out!

Wow, you truly are blessed to be surrounded by such beauty! And what a good eye you have for photographing your surroundings. : ) Perhaps if it weren't so dang hot out here all the time I would do walk more often outside rather than just on my trusty ol' treadmill. Continue to enjoy.
