this will make you snort laugh...okay maybe

or maybe it will make you unsubscribe to my blog.
i don't know.
either way i HAD to write this down and document it.
(if you are one of those very impressionable young girls from my church that i teach on sunday's, please back away from the computer turn off your screen, ask your parents to turn on some nice church music, oh and i'll see you on sunday! :))
okay.
i was having one of those days, you know the kind that comes once a month add on a headache, a bag of choc chips later and some really mind blowing moments that you think to yourself "i can't believe this person has a job trying to help me AND GETTING PAID, when he doesn't even understand what he's saying himself." on the phone with the bank that ate up my other bank when they filed for bankruptcy because they were idiots. yeah YOU guys. how infuriating can you get? and please don't put me on the phone with some guy in who knows what country (no offense) who learned my language as a second language trying to fix a problem with my mortgage in "mortgage language" that i don't even understand in my own language. *DEEP BREATH*
please.
PLEASE.
just don't
see, that time of the month.

anywho, i digress.
during this time katie gets to enjoy a little more tv watching time, seeing that i'm a raging hormonal roller coaster, currently on the verge of tears because i just ate, yet again, frosting from the container.

as it also goes, always during this time of the month, i feel like the things i've put upon myself are too much and i don't know where to begin, i bring it all out, make a mess, and i walk around picking up and putting down half way worked on projects, start something only to remember that i have something else that needs attention only to go back to the first thing... you get what i'm putting down.
mess.ed.up.

anyways she's watching this episode

of ni hao ki lan in the back ground of my "i don't know the meaning of my life" moment...and i hear part of the show, i start to pay attention a little more and yup... "snow" in ni hao ki lan land sounds a lot like "oh swear word" if you get what i mean.
but also the way they use it in the sentences. i couldn't just let it go.

i sat there staring at the tv mouth gaping wide open.
no.way.
and then it started "heh...heh..hmmm.haha...HA! BAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!! uncontrollable laughter, the kind that makes you almost pee your pants, well, unless you've had 4+ kids like myself then it actually does make you pee your pants kind of laughter. i paused it, wiped away the tears, sighed and re-wound it.
maybe it's not as funny the second....NOPE STILL HILARIOUS!!!!!
katie laughed pretty hard too. not knowing why her mom was rolling on the floor looking like she was having a nervous breakdown, i guess she figured she might as well enjoy the "mommy you so crazy and funny moment"
i had to call my neighbor (the one with 6 kids) she found it mildly funny, somewhat disturbing that i would waste my time in calling and making her listen to it over the phone.
and then i realized there's a whole section in utube dedicated to this one episode. this one is one of my favorite reactions

it.made.my.day.
and i rewound it and recorded it so i could show mr v and co when he comes home from work.

good times.

oh and when i say "that time of the month" i'm not talking about my period. i'm talking about the insane period that comes the week right before the actual "time of the month".
yeah, that.
anyone else like that?
my husband would really like to know.

ps:i have updates on where the gingerman has been, and on box tops. all i have to say for now is that you guys are awesome! ;)
we'll talk soon.

Oh... and you are not the only one... I know when Aunt Flo is coming to town a week before she arrives! When she does arrive she is just a pain in my back... literally! Thanks for the laugh V! I think you will actually have new people subscribing to your blog just because of this post!!! Have a wonderful Christmas!

Yes I am exactly like this the week before and it drives me nuts that I am!!!! My ADHD (undiagnosed) skyrockets into 5th gear and I walk around like an idiot and may try to clean this house all day and get absolutely nothing accomplished...which drives me insane!

Vanessa...It takes a lot to make me laugh out loud, but dude, that did it! It really did....

That's funny, the little purple rhino seemed to think so too!
Yep the week before=total insanity and the crazy thing is, you know it and can't help it. Seems like the older I get the worse IT gets.

...and you are NOT alone... one week before I will yell at anyone and everyone and then in the same breath cry uncontrollably!
It is a common bond we all share!
Many Blessings!

Oh, goodness. I was watching this and my 2-year-old climbed up on my lap, and of course he started repeating this new word!! Oops. When his day care teacher asks me
about it, I'll say, "It means snow! I promise!"

am so glad you posted this..made my day for sure!
As far as your hormonal problem-wait til you hit your 40's-I've been living in a constant state of PMS turmoil for the past 10 months-24/7 and toss hot flashes in on top of everything-I am just a joy to behold! Of course my Dr. says at 41 I am far too young to be entering menopause-I think it is time for a new Dr.
Love your blog-keep the giggles coming!

I call my pms pppms...pre-present-post! You are totally validated in eating chocolate AND frosting.

That clip is great! We went through a accidental swear phase with my son who had a speech problem. He was obsessed with trucks.....you get the picture. It was quite embarrassing then, but oh, so funny now!

Hope you have a great Christmas! Thanks for the laugh!

Thanks for the morning laugh, can't wait for my son to wake up and hear it (17).

Oh this post made me lol just thinking about how similar my feelings are that week before. Actually for me it's usually one solid day, about 5-7 days before my period. I am insane! I don't want to be near or around anyone! I don't want to do anything, and everything either has me on the verge of tears of screams. Ugh! Oh yeah, and it surprises me EVERY MONTH! Seriously. Every month it takes me about 2 hrs. of misery to figure it out. Then I take a boatload of pamprin and it takes 22 more hours to feel human again.

Wow! It's not even that time, and just talking about it makes me feel stressed. haha. I think I need some NiHao funniness!

Merry Christmas Christensons!

Thanks for the laugh! I think you just described the past 3 days for me... because.I.am.the.same.way. My poor hubby got yelled at for the Christmas present he bought me.

Yep, feel REALLY bad. Because IT.IS.AWESOME!

"Oh swear word" hormones.

Pam @ Frippery said...

Too snorting funny! I can't wait to show hubs and my kids. They just might S@&* or snow. Having grown children I have never seen this. Speaking of that time of month, it has been a year and I thought I was all finished and doing the happy dance. Guess what? Suprise, it wasn't Christmas making me crazy, apparently I am not completely "changed". I might have to say "snow".

Mindy said...

Oh my... oh heheheh a basketful of.... cover this with.... ohooohoo. :D

I asked Brandon what he would say to your husband about that time of month... he says to say exactly, except it's more like 3 weeks instead of one. ;)

Yes, I'm very much a mess.

Jenn said...

That is hilarious. Thanks for the laugh!

Jennifer D said...

wow, I haven't watched the clip yet but I am on my way. I feel just like you the week before my Period, but add in a big hunk of meanness. I seem to need to bring up everything that bugs me about my hubby! Poor guy.

Great to hear I am not a freak of nature... I am actually relieved when Aunt Flo shows up b/c I know I will soon begin to feel like a person.

Tell your husband that you aren't the only one...and it could have been worse...much, much worse! ;)

Mauri said...

That was too funny! I started cracking up and I'm still laughing just thinking about it. I'll have to make sure my daughter never sees that episode or she'll be walking around saying "a basket full of ..." all day long! I hope you feel better. Husbands just don't understand what we women go through. Just tell him to stay out of the way if he doesn't want to get hurt. :)

Marie said...

HAHA, very funny!! So, whats your plan on New Years Eve?

Keriann said...

I have tears rolling down my face so bad I can hardly read the screen! I am so much like that it's insane! I mean right down to uncontrollable laughter, peed pants (thanks to child baring), half down EVERYTHING around the house and a child who thinks I'm nuts! (thankfully the youngest is to young to notice right now)

And I can't forget to mention that most anyone who knows me tries to either steer clear or come clean my house because unlike your reader Sarah I AM DIAGNOSED (and medicated) ADD and during "that time of the month" Ritalin is USELESS!!!! (nothing can help a PMSing raging hormonal week....well except maybe your best friend and some choco chips!)

So after all this rambling the bottom line is....I TOTALLY GET IT!!

Keriann said...

ok I meant "half done" not "half down" =)

see, told you i was laughing too hard to see the screen!

Vintage Dutch Girl said...

That was HILARIOUS! "We helped Lulu cover the whole hill with #$@*!" :)

And the hormones? TOTALLY get it. Having weaned my 12 month old a few weeks ago, I am on a MAJOR hormone roller coaster. Oh the joys....

pssshh my hormones are always like that. no just kidding, i totally understand the week before she comes. oh how i feel so mean during that week.

Andrea said...

The week before is always worse for me!! I think that's why it's called PMS - pre-menstrual syndrome, though honestly I hadn't thought about it before writing it. :) I get to be a lunatic the week before and am so much better when it arrives. TMI I'm sure, glad this is anonymous lol.

I did laugh at the potty-mouthed kids. :) Thanks for the chuckle.

Yes its totally normal and funny cause I had one of those days yesterday too, we must be in sync. :) You can tell your hubby, yes its always the week before the actual time that is the hormonal time. So fun being a woman! And yes after kids, peeing your pants when you do anything, cough, sneeze, jump on a trampoline, laugh, etc...

Sandy said...

Oh, Vanessa. I haven't checked your blog lately, and oh how I have missed it. That was AWESOME - seriously - awesome!

I didn't even have to watch the clip (I'm Chinese)... I started laughing the second I read the word snow because I knew what was coming LOL! Never thought of it that way but it sure does sound like something hehe

And yes, my husband steers clear of me the week before. I go ballistic, he looks at the calendar, nods, and stays away. Poor sod.

Charity said...

Phaha! My 3 year old speaks Russian and is picking up Chinese from Ni-hao Kai Lan. Every time she says "it" My husband thinks she is swearing!! I so knew what episode you were talking about! Gotta love the language barrier humor.

This is one time I am actually glad my kids don't have real t.v.! I don't get as much done but I don't have to worry about chinese snow- too funny.

Did you get Miss Jen's email?

Becky said...

Vanesa! Gonna have to put you in time-out! ;) That was "oh another swear word"ing hilarious!!! Hubby Bill even chuckled.

For me "pre-week" got worse as I got older. Peri-menopause lasted 10 years and now (knock on wood) I think I am done. Whew!

I am completely with you on the peeing of the pants too. "oh swear word" to be sure when I sneeze, cough, laugh too hard, lift heavy stuff, breathe, sleep.....

Okay, I can usually sleep and breathe w/o peeing. Feel better and put your feet up busy woman!

I never thought I was that bad as far as PMS goes but this past week when I had to break the news to DH that AF came again, he said "yea, I figured." What the heck is he thinking?! What kind of heartless jerk would be so stupid as to say such a mean thing like that!?!?!

I guess he was wise to say it from across the room... and after I put down the scissors.

Have a happy period!
