tell your children to "strike a pose"...

and this is what you get.

tell your children "i'm going to take AWAY one stinkin' present if you don't give me a "oh swear word" smile"...
and this is what you get.

finally just give up and let them get in the clothes they want to be in and beg them to just sit for a second so you can get just ONE picture...
and this is what you get.
(i have no idea what they were saying at the time the picture was taken but i have a sneaky suspicion that it had to do something with "eat snow".)

Merry Christmas
from our train wreck to yours.
we'll talk soon.

Merry Christmas to you.

Well I think they are great!!! I think I'm getting more and more into the pictures that show the kids personalities.

BUT, it really would be nice if I could just get ONE picture of my fab 5 all looking at the camera at the same time.

Your kids are so cute, I hope you guys have a Fabulous Christmas!!

Well, whatever it took to make them smile, they look adorable!!
I only have 2 and it's hard enough to get them to smile or even look at the camera at the same time, especially my 2 y.o!
Merry Christmas!

I love that first shot - I can see all their personalities shining through! How protectively your oldest is with his arm around sis! They are beautiful children. I just keep smiling when I look at these shots! Have a great holiday - they grow up way too fast!

The last picture is adorable, you should just use it, fancy clothes or no! I love Katie's bow in her hair. So, I was also going to tell you that I made a pinecone wreath a while ago and just put a pic of it on my blog as part of my festive porch decor. It was a huge pain to make because I had to cut all of the pinecones in half, but it was totally worth it and I love how it looks. Hope you have a great Christmas!!\\

hahaha! I did one of those posts on my blog too! To get them all looking and all smiling? I'm pretty sure it would take a christmas miracle! I heard someone say that there has to be one scowling child in every photo. Some days that's just too true! What sometimes works for me....before a planned photo, I give them the whole talk of, "I know you hate when I make you do this" but if you ALL look and you ALL smile, I'll only have to take ONE picture... blah blah blah. I say it works about 50/50.

Personally, I prefer pictures of kids that aren't perfectly posed... your photos are wonderful! Kids are supposed to be wiggly and all over the place. :)

Like trying to herd cats, so yes... better to just go with what you get when it comes to photographing children.

Love how your photos turned out and especially in black and white.
