she's such a "betty"

i think that's her name.
GI joe husband took it upon himself to buy me a sewing machine. yes, you read it right. HE bought ME a sewing machine. GI joe husband loves to research (that's why he went and got himself a PhD. so he could one day teach at a university and do research), so when i told him what my next requirements for a sewing machine would be(never ever EVER thinking that i would get something even close to it), and what brand i wanted....he started to research and well guess what he found...an even better sewing machine than what i would of bought for myself. for half the cost of what it originally cost. with perks and a lot of equipment i don't even know what any of it does yet.
and in reading the manual i see that she can quilt, embroider, clean, cook, and do my taxes. i wonder if she does pedicures as well?
she scares the hell out of me.
thank you jake.

Bernina's are the best! I love mine and before I had it, I worked on my moms that is 35+ years old! They just never quit! GI Joe Husband made a great choice!

I clicked on the pic to make it big and see that she has a button with a question mark...that should solve everything, shouldn't it?

Congratulations!

Funny, my grandma who is a quilting FIEND is named Betty. ANd she has a Bernina. I think it's a lot like yours. And I doubt she uses all the features on it too.

I know that this comment is about a post from a couple of days ago, but I'm just getting caught up on my blogs... so about Twilight- I think it is the most hysterical thing in the world that all of us 30 something moms like the books as much as teenagers. I went to see it with a bunch of mom friends and, like you, I was less than pleased with the changes the movie made to the story, but oh that Edward. Whoo! I can't wait for the DVD!

Also, on the new sewing machine- all I can say is WOW. Wish I had a GI Joe! You're one lucky lady!

Merry Christmas :)

Hooray! It's a Bernina :)

Don't be afraid of 'Betty'! Look at her as being just another household tool (like your oven or cake mixer) that helps you express your creativity! You go girl!!! And what a sweet husband - remember this when that analytical habit gets annoying - (like it does for my best friend with her husband) - these guys do it out of love for their ladies and only want the best for them!!

I'm glad you finally got your Bernina. I've been reading your blog (catching up with everything I have missed along the way since I just found you!). I have two Berninas. One I bought right out of college. It's mechanical and I still love it. When I started quilting and wanted to do button hole applique, I got a computer one. It's almost 13 years old. You'll love it and it will last forever.
