my cupeth runeth overeth

happy monday!

so many of you are on board in the get rid of crap process! good for you! it's contagious and let me tell you...
you guys motivated me to organize a little more than what i anticipated on doing in the first place. we went through and organized all three boy's dresser drawers, and closet, we went through and organized little miss katie's drawers and closet, and i went through a few of my drawers as well. we're going to work on katie's toys this week sometime and then i'll try to tackle that mess of a craft area i have.
ew hives.
now some of you have commited and some of you have already left comments saying you tackled basements, and drawers and closets!! YAY! see this is what i'm talking about. this is why i blog. just that whole awesome encouragement that goes on and all the help we give to each other! fabulous!

so here's the next question:

do you want a show and tell? like say come this friday we do a link party of before and afters?

or would you like to move on to the next post of organizing and cleaning and schedules?

it's up to you guys. i'm here for whatever.
let me know and we'll move in the direction of the most popular suggestion.
okay...

did you have a nice weekend? we roasted marshmallows to celebrate two full days of working hard on the sewer. yeah you read it right...the husband dug up our pooper (well the leach line and made sure it was running right. he found a few problems and fixed them. i was his trusty sidekick.
and let me tell you, having to spend umpteenth hours together in a trench and working on crap (literally) really makes you appreciate the other things in life you work on together.

my cupeth runeth overeth on the love i have for that man, and the crap he's willing to work on.

:)

Your doggie looks super cute.

I love before-and-afters. I could cheat and do a before of my dining room, which has all the living room furniture piled in it, as my husband is painting the living room. But that's only temporary slobbiness...

I am too frightened of my actual slobbiness to photograph it. Making an image of it is like keeping it alive. Eee!

Aren't hardworking husbands great? :)

I would love to see before and after pictures! That would give me good ideas on how other people organize and maybe give me some pointers too!!

I'd love a before/after, although I'm not sure I'll be showing much. Unless hubby and I really whip those 2 bookcases we're building out by then. But since they require being built plus stained and poly'd, I'm gonna doubt it. They're the key to getting the office/guestbedroom/dumping ground under control (um, before company shows up in 2 weeks.)

I just did a good cleaning of my closet/dresser. It felt good to clean it all out. I offered some stuff to a friend and am taking the rest to Good Will.
Thanks for the motivation!

I organized ALL of the toys in the basement. I want to get rid of some, but don't want to hurt grandparent's feelings. There are just too many toys and not enough days to play with them. What to do???

Thank you for your inspiration! My sewing room is always three feet deep full of fabric and whatnot-- I literally can't see the floor most days. Hmmmm. . .

Okay, so just a thought-- would you do one of your cleaning posts about paperwork-- what bills you should keep, what you can throw away that kind of thing?

Thanks again for the inspiration and good luck with your fun 'project'! (It makes me glad we are still renting! ;0)

Oh boy! I love before and afters. Too bad I did not take the before shots though. I totally agree about blogging encouragement. Everyone seems so excited to get on board and cheer on one another. Love it! :o)
Your photography is amazing! Too bad we did not live closer, I could hire you for Senior portraits! :o) My Katie graduates this year. Yipes! :o)
I swear I love my husband so much, he gets down in the muck too and blows my mind what he is willing to do for his family! I am a lucky girl! :o)
Have a great day!

Hi Vanessa! I've been a reader for awhile. I love all of your tutorials, but I have to say that I am so happy that you are blogging about random things in your life...who YOU are and what life is like for you. It's fun to get to know you a little more.

I love before and afters too! But I don't have a before. However, my brother just spent a week at my house painting my craft room, amoung other things. All my JUNK is now in my bedroom and it's going OUT OF MY HOUSE. I just have to go through it as I put my room back together. And I have to say it feels so good to see the carpet in my craft room! I guess my before could be my bedroom and my after my craft room? We'll see. Lets go for it!

Ehhhh...we never remember to do before shots and everything is so much a work in progress here I wouldn't bother with that...I'd rather just keep going with the motivation! I'm nearly 32 weeks pregnant now and time is ticking on the decluttering process since we are trying to fit two girlies into one bedroom so the other bedroom is ready to be used as a nursery in 2 months. Help a nesting mother out! = )

Oh...always good to get inspired to clear out clutter....move things on to others who need them and make room for more good times (not things) in your own life! Thanks for the inspiration1 And I hope you don't have to dig any more trenches any time soon...or if you do they are for the purpose of planting trees! ;) Blessings!

Instead of a vacation this summer, the husband took several days off this week so we could ORGANIZE. We just did a HUGE organization of our garage, and threw out/recycled/donated TONS of junk. Now I have a lovely garage with pegboadrds and shelves of bins and buckets...I wish I had a before picture. Tomorrow...the craft area. Gulp. I will take a before pic so I can add it if you do a before/after!

I love cleaning and organizing, cherish being able to do that now because once they become TEENAGERS you won't be allowed and it won't be a priority to them - you learn to pick your battles and a clean room won't be one of them. Just close the door and walk away.

Help I am moving and I know the next place I go to is going to be smaller and lack storage and I have a fairly large stash that I find hard now to get organized so I will need all the help I can get. Love your blog

you inspired me to tackle my bathroom cabinets/closet. it was a great day! the problem is that no one can see the results of all that hard work unless i leave the cabinet doors open ;)

This is SUCH a good idea. And has inspired me to tackle a huge pile of laundry... which really involved tidying up all of the cabinets. But that's done now - thank you!
