my new design for a pillow

created just like my other pillows here and here, this is my way of designing exactly what i want for the look i'm going for.
oh but why am i making new slip covers do you ask?
this slip covered pillow was created ... *drum roll please*
for my new to me...
leather couch.
yes, remember when i whined talked about wanting leather couches and not being able to part with the money that i had saved up for it? hmmm? yes, well little miss heather emailed me right after that post and started flooding my email inbox with leather couches found on ksl classified.
and instantly with the first one she sent a link to, i fell in love, not just with the look (it's EXACTLY what i was looking for) but with the price as well.
yes, ladies i got that couch for $145.

if you knew me in person when i got my other couches (they were new 12 years ago) then you would know, and understand why, my nickname that my husband gave me for the the first 10 years of our marriage was "couch Nazi". i do not do well with "new and nice" things lets just leave it at that.

so this new to me couch may have a few cat scratches, and yes, it has been loved by two other families..but it's perfect for me. our family.
so heather, thank you so much, and my family thanks you too, because we got a nice enough couch, but not too nice that i start twitching every time the kids or the husband come within 4 feet of it.

come monday we will be having our monthly sponsored giveaway. trust me you'll want it.
have a good weekend.
we'll talk soon.

check out what's on sale and i want at burgundy buttons!

Love it!! Love the whole look of your room... love the price of the couch! Fantastic!!

Oh, and I totally understand the word verification. I tried again to take it off of apron girls and got a ton of spam within a few hours. Sucky spammers.

great deal on the leather sofa. Looks great. LOL, glad to know that I am not the only one who has issues with new things. I have been fondly called the "carpet nazi" by the family after we got our new carpet oh 2 years ago. We move every few years because of the hubs job, so I want the carpet to stay as new as I can when we move.LOL, maybe we need a twelve step program. : )

Yeah for you!!! It matches your style and colors so well.

I too love leather. We are moving to Seoul, Korea in July and my thing was I will only go if I can take my leather furniture and if the fatquarter shop will ship to APO's and they do!

Happy Decorating

Hello! Beautiful room! And the pillow design is awesome. I love clean look and the color is fresh. I was wondering, where did you get the glass dome that sits on table behind your couch? I have been looking around and can't find any.

Thank you and have a great weekend!

YAY! The pillow is pretty cute, and I am not going to lie, I noticed it was on a leather couch right away, so I had a feeling something fabulous was soon to follow.

Although, the parting of those couches seems like the end of an era!

we have that couch! we have had it for 5 years and i now have three children who have spilled things on it, thrown up on it, drawn on it, and on and on and on and it still looks new. as much as i didn't want leather, i love the fact that we just wipe off whatever gets on it. maybe i need some new pillows for mine, too!

Wow thats awesome! It looks like it's in pretty good condition too! I wanted to tell you that I used your snow ruffle pillow tutorial, and copied your darling ideas for some new pillows for my sister in laws bed! I've got the pictures on my blog tjandwhitnee.blogspot.com!

Sweet find!! I know what you mean. I keep dreaming about new couches, but as I observe the destructive powers of my children (specifically my boys!) I figure, why waste my money/peace & serenity on couches that will only be put through the refiner's fire. Some day!

LOve your new pillow too!!

Congratulations on the new couch. I like leather couches a little worn anyways. They look and feel a little cozier to me.

I've been known as the 'couch nazi' in our house, too; apparently I am unbearable when there is brand new furniture around. :-) I love second-hand, and have clothed my family in Op-shop finds for forever. And I don't think you could have done any better with that couch - it is gorgeous!
