yeah you would think this picture is from a magazine. it's not. it's my good friend's house who just happens to be an AWESOME decorator, but even better, she's pretty
rockin' with man tools. she made this hutch by HERSELF. she's the one who helped me with my little one's wood kitchen. the woman is pretty much the
shiz in my book and she inspires me every time we talk.
(btw totally want to steal that bench...but that's totally against my religion. if it weren't, that bench would be sitting pretty in my house as of a long time ago and i would totally hide it when she were to come over). her whole house is amazing but i wanted to highlight the "
white's" in her house.

i'm in the process of adding more "light" and "white" into our home. so naturally i turned to my fabulous friend for inspiration. after taking pictures i came home and started working. i'm still in the middle of it but get ready to see what
i've done with my inspiration!

I was giggling just listening to your story of hubby blowing out the eggs. My hubby usually leaves the creativity and man tools to me lol. Love your blog, it's adorable!

I Love white, when you can have a subtle color on the walls.
I live in a very white rental - it's so white there are at least 15 different shades of it on the same wall. Totally different feeling than this. :)

Your friend's home is beautiful. I wish I ccould operate woodworking tools. I took a woodshop class for just women and there were 25 women in class, so only one person completed the step stool we were suppose to make. Too many people and not enough tools. Didn't learn a thing.

Uh, you think she'd do a guest post on how to build a hutch? I love that thing--I so want to copy her, but I only have a handsaw and a screwdriver and a scoutmaster husband who of course has no time for building hutches. lame.
HERSELF?!! Lord if I tried to make a hutch, I don't think it would stand. That's for sure.
Oh my gosh! I am seriously in love with the hutch! I too am trying to add white/light into our home. I envy your ability to actually do it. I think I'm afraid of messing it all up. Most everything in our house is wood...darker wood with red tones for the most part. I always seem to end up back in the earthy darker colors. Blech! Some day I dream of having a home that is light and bright.
Those things in your friends house are beautiful. Wish she was my neighbor so I could get some of her inspiration...heck I would like you for a neighbor too! Can't wait to see what you are working on. Have fun!
Love that hutch and agree with you about the bench. I just love that style and since my husband likes working with tools I find things I like and show him so he can build it. I help some and do the finishing of each piece. I love the white also. It is so crisp and clean. Can't wait to see what you come up with!
I love whites too. I think I might make them my new obsession too. I love that she made that hutch...I am a little scared of man tools. Ps I think you are the shiz...as do the the many people who I have introduced your blog too.

I would totally swipe that bench! But I doubt it would stay white in my house...maybe black or aqua, possibly red or orange...

Ohhhhhhhh....(sigh), I love white! I have been collecting white plates and pitchers but I don't have a nice cabinet like her's.
