"THE" chair is done... for now

because a girl has the right to completely change her mind about anything...how ever many times she wants you may get something that she was happy with that looked like this:...to be undone and re-done in yellow gigham, undone of that and then re-done in a blue with a print of some fruit on it (shut it...it was a good idea in theory...okay maybe it wasn't even good then)...to finally give out a big sigh of relief when in the "big city" she was pulled by gravity towards "camille's red polka dots" only to fall (even more) madly in love with the fabric in person.

so i ended up with this. i've decided that i'm a red and green with a dash of blue kind of girl. and as much as i would of liked to of taken the plunge and painted it a lovely, lovely robin's egg blue, i think i may just need to warm up to it. so for now it is done. and for now i like it.
and that my friends is where i plant my butt to read your comments. have a happy weekend.

I love it! Whimsical but still sophisticated (sp). i am finding that the longer we are in our house, (1st one) I am a whole lotta red, Bits of green and dash of blue girl too. I might have to find that fabric and do something with it. Gotta love polka dots!!
Great choice!!

Love the chair-- did you stripit or just paint over the bottom layer? Incredibly interested...

You're making me want to recover all of my dining room chairs. How much fabric did it take for that one chair??

Fabulous! I was always on the white and red team...ironically most of my stuff is blue/white/black/tan...but that doesn't mean I don't love the white and red! Good job. I should have my dresser to show you soon...just waiting on Spencer to use the primer since I can't inhale that and all!

i used primer on it, and i didn't sand it down this time. i wanted to see if primer was really where it's at. well i'm a believer! so far it's withstood the children and me and it hasn't scratched. so i would say PRIMER everything! that's what i'm doing from now on.
oh and the dresser behind my chair was a redo as well. no primer under it but i sanded it...paint seems to be sticking to it quite well but i think i'll be using primer on my next big project.

The chair looks awesome! I'm jealous! I want one! :o) I love the new blog header! SO CUTE!

Why o why did I not notice that pillow before? I had to go back and find it... It was in the post with the quilt I loved. I think that I am totally loosing my mind...maybe I noticed it without noticing it and that is where the idea popped into my head from. You're the bestest for idea-lifting! Thanks for inspiring us all.

V, you have quite the sense of humor. Love that.

I rather like the fabric you picked. And really, what is important is that you like it and it makes you happy. Great thing is, that it probably takes less than a yard of fabric, so you if feel the urge again to get another look it's do-able.

Btw, love your new banner. I liked the other one too, but this one shouts SPRING!!
Have a great weekend.

Ok I'm loving the red polka dot because I adore Camille's chair, but I'm telling you, yellow would have really done it for me. However, you are the one that lives with it :) Good job

That looks so stinking cute--I wish when i redid all my kitchen chairs I would ahve done them in polka dots instead of flowers. I'm such a nerd.

Your new blog look is so dang cute. I officially give up trying to make my stuff look cute and take better pictures of it--it's always outdone! :)

I really like the recovered chair. I have been itching to recover my dining room chairs. but sewing is sooo much more fun for me I keep putting it off. Will you have any more projects on Moda bakeshop? I am still working on my braided rug...sewing it by hand.

coming from your blue and green with a dash of red friend I like the chair and maybe one day you will be brave enough to let blue into your heart! I agree with you about the red border on the header a little much but otherwise super cute!
