in the works

have i been working on:

A)organizing

B)painting

C)being sick

D)a tutorial

E)trying to be a good mom and wife by cooking every darn night

F)getting my part of the stupid taxes done

E)all of the above

E. would be the correct answer. but see this is how i roll. i put a bazillion things on my plate and get about half of the things done. this year i've been trying to start and finish one thing at a time...i'm royally screwing up. so i'm really trying hard to finish this list before i start yet another list. see baby steps.
*"we've" (the little one likes to think she's part of this)been organizing. every monday i have put it upon myself to do one organizing project while the boys are at school. it can be huge or small. but by golly i will reclaim my organized life once again...i feel like we've been rolling in un-organization for too long. so i am instilling what i used to do and pick one day out of the week where i organize one thing. this week it was my fabric area (the one you can see, not the monster of a disaster in my closet...that's for another day.)
*i've been sick. so i'm in the works of trying to get better. (coincidentally, my rice bag feet warmer/neck de-crinker works awesome for sinus infections! it's been on my face constantly for the past two days and has dislodged...well i'll spare details)
*i've been painting...not anything huge but it's white and i'll show you next week
*and i've been busting my butt cooking. this one has to be the hardest for me. but the husband and kids are not complaining (well the kids are but the husband is not) and it's been good for me to move out of my comfort zone of the 5 dishes i KNOW how to cook without a recipe and actually use a cookbook. oh and cooking sometimes means calling in a pizza.
*i'm also in the works of a new tutorial. so you'll want to come back on tomorrow for sure.
remember:
tomorrow=tutorial
come back

hmmm I reckon you need to take some time to just relax so you can get well.

Take care of you :)

Feel better soon!

I agree with Melly. Let yourself recover. The organising can wait.
My house is a prime example. My house (sewing room in particular) is like a bomb site. But I'm managing to keep relatively well and the kids aren't running around filthy in the street.
Your shelves do look fabulous though.
Andi :-)

I don't sew... but I think I want a stack of pretty fabric like yours in my office anyway, just because it's so lovely to look at. *giggles

oh great! Now we're all going to waste an hour watching Oprah. Hahaha. Thanks Dana. That sounds good.
And I'm loving the organized fabric. It looks pretty, like you just want to stroke it and admire the eye candy.

Kim of Milkybeer Handmade said...

NO, you're not the only person who really doesn't like Oprah. However, anyone that spends an hour talking about food and cooking must be good so I just might watch too.

Your fabrics are so pretty it makes me want to sew something. {And I can't sew.}

Sorry you've been under the weather. I have a sinus infection right now...I can relate. :-)
Take care!

I spent the whole last weekend working on c. Blech. I used my corn bag int he same way as your rice bag. I'm over it almost. I like the idea of 1 day a week organizing. Makes it a little less intimidating.

I was also sick this past weekend and used my wheat bag on my aching joints. It worked a little. :)

lol - tomorrow = tutorial. Got it! So funny. I love how when husbands are in the picture (again) we tend to cook more complete meals. I too have menu A, B, C and D. It's just easier with kids to not need a recipe.

Your little girl is looking like she is saying eeny meeny minee moe, which fabric will she take?
Very cute. I was feeling yucky too, my husband thought I needed to eat junk food! We are dieting so it was a good suggestion.
Hope you feel better soon.

Okay, I just have to say I WISH you were my neighbor! Our kids could run wild together and we could talk fabric, sewing and thrifty finds. Just think of all the housework that would go undone! Every time I’ve stopped by your blog I just LOVE everything. Even love your friend’s cute hutch. I’m trying to fill one up with a milk glass/vintage plate collection right now. I wish I had a dollar for every ½ finished/in the works project I’ve got going on. But if I did, I would probably just go buy more fabric for some other NEW project. :) Cooking EVERY night is hard - it wouldn’t be so bad, if it didn’t mean dishes.

I just LOVE looking at all that fabric! What is it about fabric that makes it so addicting to buy/collect??? This is why I stay away from fun stores like Cornwagon!

Hope you feel better soon!!!

Ok V, I'm worried that I may tick you off. YA see, I made some bags and they look an awful lot like yours. I really didn't mean for them too, just had so much fabric and when I cut and sewed them they turned out pretty similar in size to yours. Your yo yo idea, I did steal, I'll admit it they were so cute I really couldn't help myself. Anyhow, I'm feeling really guitly so if you look at my bags and think they are way to close to yours let me know and I'll take them off my etsy shop! BTW.....I'm totally jealous that you were featured in the Moda Bake Shop. That is so awesome, Congratulations!

One more thing........Oprah bugs me too. That doesn't mean I don't watch her occasionally because I'm desperate for something to watch (no cable) but, yea she bugs, I hate it when she gets all political!

You are one busy lady! Just wanted to let you know I made the foot warmer - I am sooooo addicted to it! I posted about it a couple of weeks ago and linked it up with your site!

Good for you! I also take on more than I can chew and often end up feeling so overwhelmed that I let everything slack. Having a specific day to do things isn't such a bad idea.
Good Luck.
can't wait for the tutorial!

I can't wait for the tutorial tomorrow.... :)

I don't like to watch Oprah, either...AND I am a very good project starter and a very bad project finisher!!! The past couple weeks I've had little disaster areas all over the house - organizing one room, sewing on the kitchen table, cooking/dishes in the kitchen, scrapbook hutch wide open...you get the idea. I always thought I had a good attention span, but maybe its not as good as I thought...

Mimi Sue said...

I should take a day and organize too. Great idea. Your friend's house is too cute. Mimi
