it was a blur

was your Christmas good?
ours was fun but ours was a blur. currently i have 40 fingers and 40 toes at my house wondering what to do next and staring at me and begging me to let them play video games. so i let them...but then i get annoyed with how much they play...so i make them stop...big huge difference between summer vacation and winter vacation, the possibility of leaving and being out and about and going to the pool. i'm so not a cold weather person, but maybe i'll get us out sledding. yuck, i'm cold just thinking about it. do you think they would mind if i stay in the running car with the heater on? hmmm possibilities opening up.

another blur was my decision to cut my bangs and then actually going out and doing it. didn't think twice about it. yikes. and actually had a really hard time with the change...but i'm getting used to them. i actually went and saw tron and loved cora's bangs so much that i walked away from that movie going...yeah i can do bangs. we shall see how the saga continues.

also notice that i went back to my natural hair color. (i did about a month and half ago) i don't remember being this dark but sure enough there you have it.
all this change i did with my hair got me thinking of my new year's resolution word for the upcoming year. this last year's word was consistency...hmm i'll work on it for the next few days i think...seeing that i'm not really going to be working on anything else till after the holiday vacation.

any good word suggestions out there?

ps: thank heavens for the blur of a picture...it makes me look like i have no wrinkles. it's like my own personal botox...minus the weird lack of facial movement.
we'll talk soon

hey v! i didn't watch tron, but my husband did. and he came home saying there was a girl in the movie with super cool bangs and it would look cute on me. hahaha. i'm guessing he's talking about cora. i wonder if all the girls who saw the movie went to their stylist and said they want bangs like tron? haha!

how was your christmas?

you look great! Word for next year? I'm going with Trust. As in Trust in God. There are a lot of uncertainties here right now & I've been needlessly laying awake night after night. So, Trust it is.

My church leaders picked the theme of preparation for this year. We are supposed to pick two things (one spiritual and one physical) that work with Preparation.

And I love the bangs. I kept cutting little wispy things, because I wasn't sure I could rock bangs. Then I had a hair stylist tell me to do bangs, you had to go big. I let her and it's been 2 years of bangs love now!

My first thought when this post came up was "I like her hair". It looks great! Our Christmas was a blur, too, and my kids have pretty much been in their pjs all day every day since. :)

The new "do" is awesome. You definitely pull it off!

I say pile on the layers, pack the kids up, make two thermoses of hot chocolate (one for the kids, one with some "extra" ingredients for you), and go sledding! It has a double bonus: 1 the kids will think you are the most awesome mom in the world. 2 They will tire themselves out so much you'll have the rest of the evening in peace and quiet. :) All the adrenaline from flying down the hill, plus all the exertion of climbing back up toting a sled. It's even better than the pool for wearing out rambunctious kids!

Now...if only we had some snow around here...

Love the awesome haircut!

I think my new word for 2011 is going to be "balance". I tend to get OCD and need to remember how important balance truly is in life.

I got bangs for the first time since 1993 and I'm LOVING them.

I've been trying to come up with a word for the year and had a great idea in the middle of the night, but did not get up and write it down. And now it's gone. ;)

Love the bangs!!!

My boys are doing the same thing, I have had two no-video game days in a row and things have been rough. Today I took them to the library, but that only lasts 30 minutes...I do not have quiet-let's-read-in-the-library kids.

Hubby is home so that helps :) They can run around together.

I've never been here before, but I feel compelled to let you know that I think you're lovely! LOVE the bangs! I'll be sure to pop in again, but in the meantime, know that a random - albeit opinionated - person gives the new look an emphatic thumbs-up!

Cute bangs!!!

I think this year I need to focus on: listen
...to the spirit and to my kids! Always something I need to work on.

Happy New Year!!!

I think your bangs look great! I'm going on 6 years with bangs and I might never go back. I like that they cover up my forehead wrinkles :) I've found the key to styling them is a good round brush and flat iron . . . always does the trick! Glad you had a good Christmas. Happy New Year!

you are darling! wish i could do bangs but my hair's too fine. i'm thinking about using the word "balance" this year as in being able to find a balance between my part-time job, being a mom, wife, sewing, working out (need to start), church... all of it.

Love the bangs and you hair. I wish my frizzy curls could be worn that way. Christmas week does fly. Enjoy having those fingers and toes underfoot, they will fly soon enough too. I haven't gotten to my word yet either. I am thinking there are so many it is hard to settle on one most important word.

I think bangs suit you! Very flattering! Speaking of video games...made any 12 hour fruitcake lately? hehe!

Just found your blog through Southern Mommas and so glad I did. I've already become a new follower. Love that you do tutorials because I'm always interested in learning how to do some new things. I don't know how your hair was before, but the bangs look really cute. I usually have some version of bangs because I have a high forehead; also because I'm "older" and need to hide as many wrinkles as possible. I'm really looking forward to reading more on your blog.
