before and after: hallway shelf

my shelf in my front hallway has been sitting with that little splotch of blue for like months. i had really good intentions last fall to get this project done...and well, octnovdecember happened just like that, and now january is the month to take one project at a time. this was at the top of my list.
scratch off "paint shelf" and now to move onto the next project on the list...
some of you have been busy too...i'll show off your stuff on wednesday! ;)
we'll talk soon.

for me, I'm getting NO projects done. I got tennis elbows on both arms and my left wrist is suffering from de quarain.

I LOVE that color! I painted my living room and bedroom shades very similar to that. So beachy and fun!

Wow, it looks fab! I'm always amazed what a difference a little bit of paint can make.

I actually painted my broom a similar colour, with a pretty ribbon threaded through the top of the handle to hang it by, just to make brushing the kitchen floor a little bit more fun!

I'd seen such brooms in a very expensive home boutique, but all mine cost was a tester pot of paint!

I love that blue! My old studio was painted that colour and I kind of miss it... but I don't miss it enough to paint my current studio. Yet. Hehe!

Hello - I'm making your Moda Bake Shop strawberries - I'm practically obsessed with them. Thanks for the design.

I cracked up when I saw your "splotch" of paint. I have the same "splotch" of paint on the back of my wall unit. I've decided that I like the color so I just need to get the brush and can out again and get going. You've inspired me to get it done!

I like the way it came out. I have been doing some painting myself. You have a great gift for decorating.

SO CUTE!!! But you can't...just can't put it back the same way!!! I say nix the welcome sign...and do all white on the bottom shelf!! Nix the baskets too. Maybe add a banner to the pegs? Just an idea!!

It's gorgeous! I love red myself and couldn't believe you painted it until I saw the finished project--WOW! Maybe I need some updating, too!

Did you sand the whole shelf?? That's the part of painting I dislike - the prep. Or did you spray paint? Like those colors - you made something good into something great! Wish I could have talked with you more when I was at Mom & Dad's for Christmas, other than running into you in the hall at church. Will be back in town for Mom's quilt retreat in September.
