my new ride

thanks to my mom who wanted me to have my birthday gift a few months early so that i can enjoy it this year before the snow hits. (she'll be enjoying her's all year long right by the beach...){turkey}

but until that snow hits or it gets too cold, middle of nowhere townsfolk look out for the gal singing to her ishuffle pretending like the beach was right around the corner!

Is it brand new or a restored older bike? I looks so much like my bike (which I loved) growing up...and I'm 62! They don't make 'em like that anymore. Oh boy, I even sound old. ;) And I can never wait to give my daughter gifts either, then I usually get her something else and she gets TWO presents! Enjoy!!!

great bike!!
Thanks for the earlier post about 9/11. I'm a bit disappointed in my kids' school. They didn't even bring it up. Now, I don't think that they need to rehash the whole thing or show hours of footage but a scheduled time in the morning when every student/staff member stands and does the Pledge of Allegiance together would have been nice.
Makes me wonder what our country will be in future years if we don't train up some patriotic children today!
sorry, i'm done with my rambling now.
have a good day.

My hubby bought me that exact bike, I love it! I put a handled basket on the handle bars and listen to my itouch while riding... We aren't allowed to have buds in our ears while riding in our state...

Ok, so I'm a total dork for asking, but is the turkey reference next to the beach reference from the UK Family Feud guy who answered turkey to everything? I can't hear beach and turkey without thinking of that clip. I'm sure it is on youtube if you haven't seen it.

Love the new ride... So much fun. Here at the beach, those beautiful cruiser bikes have big wire or straw baskets with colorful fabric linings in them. That would make a statement. maybe your next sewing project???? :)

Hi Vanessa - What an awesome bike. I just love the color. I would love to have one, but with my bad back...not sure, but maybe one of the older style bikes would work. What is that on the back of the seat? By any chance is that something to help support your back...goes to show how much I know about bikes. By the way this is BellaDella's Mom. It is a pleasure to meet you, even though I feel I know your family already as I come by most days. You have such a beautiful family and I just love joining you all on your little adventures. I have to say that the post of your little girl and her dog, was absolutely precious. I had to call BellaDaughter at work and make sure she didn't miss this post. Also, I think this would make a wonderful little children's book:).

Hope you and your family are having a nice weekend!

Smiles,
Janice

the contraption on the back is a kid carrier for katie. she thinks she's pretty important on the back of that thing!

i got the cruiser at walmart, YES walmart and it was $84. jerry was there as well and thankfully i didn't go in her lane, she only had two people in her lane but i passed every single one of them, as they were still waiting because jerry needed assistance with something. she did manage to make small talk with my checker though...i just had a huge grin on my face cause i was so happy because my checker kept checking my items even while she was talking to jerry!

V, I just marvel at your blog popularity..I see you on so many blogrolls these days. How wonderful for you. You are the second famous person I can say..."I knew her when!' The other one is Lloyd Newell! I bet all your readers would be jealous to know I sat next to you in Twilight while you drooled over Edward! Hahaha!

Thanks for your e-mail and tutorial...I will try it as soon as I get 2 seconds. Hopefully tomorrow. Looks simple enough!

Love your new ride looks just like the one Julia got for her birthday from Jen and Lowell. Same color too!

Love you....Bon

I love your new ride! Now you need a cute basket on the front - filled with baguettes, cheese, tomatoes, a quilt....

I had a red and white vintageishy bike 2 Christmas' ago, and it was on back order for SOOOOOO long that I canceled the order. Now one sits in our local bike shop, and every time we drive by Mr. Z says, "there's your bike - we can still go get it...". Now seeing yours... I'm tempted!
