best second hand find (in my eyes)

i got to go this past week to the second hand store.
when i got there. i instantly spotted this little wood hutch.
i think i pooped my pants when i saw it.
not really, but i was that excited.
we brought it home after i paid the $25 that they asked for it.

i immediately started to play with re-arrange her kitchen and set it up. i then made this cute little banner with the vintage sheets i have in my collection. this is how i made it.

all i need now is cute pink glass knobs and i think i'll be in heaven.
*****
i'm trying to update my shop sometime next week. i'll let you know when. expect kits for these mini-banners and some new down loadable patterns!
*****
have a great labor day weekend!!!

see you next week!

ps i just uploaded some great green fat quarter bundles, or some fabric perfect for fall and some more here and here
yes i have a problem i have too much fabric for my own good

Katie is one blessed little girl to have a mom who wants her to have the best kitchen in the whole world. Maybe someday she will have a daughter who will use the same little kitchen and hear stories of all the fun her Mom and Grandma had with it.

That is just the cutest little hutch. I adore the way she has her own little kitchen and decorated so sweet. I did this for my daughter (who is now 19) and I would play house with her and pretend bake. It was so much fun! Lucky little girl you got there!!

Would you, by any chance be interested in turquoise glass knobs instead? I have some (6, I think) that I bought in Notting Hill while on a college trip and I *love* them but they don't go anywhere in my house. If you'd be happy with blue instead of pink, I'd be glad to send them to you. Maybe a trade for something? ;) Or not! You can send me an email if you're interested! :)

What a great purchase! Fits so well in her kitchen. I need something like that to keep our playroom organized, too.

I have a weakness for little wooden hutches. That one is so wonderful. (I still have mine from when I was little, and I'll probably keep it forever. But it doesn't have cute little cupboards or places for yummy glass nobs. - BTW if you don't want the turquoise knobs from Notting Hill, send that gal MY WAY!! :)

Love the new banner too!

The little girl in me swooned when I saw this kitchen. It made me wish I was tiny enough to play with it... or lucky enough to have a daughter to build our own little kitchen. It's lovely

You are the luckiest woman! I've been searching high and low for something like that for my daughter, for Christmas. I'm to the point where I think I may have to make it. good thing my dad is a carpenter. I'd rather just find one though, cooler and cheaper.

Katie Lewis said...

I love that little kitchen! It is more charming than my own. Sad. Anyway, I was just going to say that Anthropologie has tons of cool drawer pulls/ knobs. For whatever that's worth. Now I'm off to look over that tutorial for the banner. I've been wanting to make one of those for a long time.

P.S. How does one get good at building up a supply of cool vintagey fabrics for cheap?

Love the hutch!! I love the little blue pots and those milk bottles are to die for!! Where did you get them? I am for sure making a banner for my little Sweet Pea! Thanks for the great ideas!

I too just bought a little vintage childs kitchen cabinet thingy. The only sad thing is that I don't have a little girl to play with it.

Mine is still wood colored but I think I will paint it aqua and put it in my sewing room to hold fabrics and notions.

Or maybe red....

They had another one when I went back a few days later but I figured DH would kill me if I brought another one home.

UMMMM....are you kidding? NO joke. That is freaking cool! I've actually been thinking about one for Lucy....and a cute one. And it looks like you found it! Congrats! Enjoy :)
