spray painting plates

one thing is for sure.
my house is ever changing.
and i also don't sit for very long...BUT when i do sit...i stare around and the 'ol brain starts a going...
sometimes this drives my husband nuts.
the question has been risen a few times: "why can't you just let things be and be happy how they are?"
i don't know...i guess it's a problem if i let it be a problem, or i could just run with it and oh i don't know keep a blog going with all my crazy-ness...

i had this little plate hanging around and i had this spray paint hanging around.
the plate cost me a whopping 25 cents at the second hand store so i figured "why the heck not?...lets try something new."
i think i like it

and i think i may just have started something new in my house...husband's going to love that.

i'll make sure to remind him that he's the one that pursued me in the early stages in our courtship...that'll teach him.

You'll also have to remind him that it was (most probably) your quirky creativity that he fell in love with in the first place.
You'll also have to remember not to eat off that plate in the future.
Looks great though.

I love spray paint, but never thought of doing a plate,,why not?! I really like it a lot. I have the same issue, but my husband gave up a long time ago about wondering why I change things,, he just goes with the flow now...

I am so like that too, when I do sit for a moment my brain starts to plan what to rearrange or reorganize next. My boys always said that when they were growing up it happened on a wednesday - I rearranged the house. I love the plate as well....nice red.

Great Idea! Spray paint - a woman's best friend! I've just begun collecting plates I like too - I need to do a photo collage wall with them like this. Now if I could just remember to actually print the pictures and not just post them on my blog....

Nothing a little spray paint can't fix. And tell the hubby that if your house is like you...constantly growing and changing for the better.

I just love this for two reasons. One, I love seeing how you arrange things on your walls, it always looks so eclectic and cute. And two, I totally relate. Sometimes, I get the urge to change something, anything, for no reason. And I'm glad my husband isnt the only one confused by it. :)

V, I absolutely love that pop of red on your wall! I just bought some of that same glossy red paint to go over my park bench in my yard. Your husband should be so impressed with your beautiful wall--it looks so lovely! Have an awesome week!

i sympathize will ole jake...you add woman.

Love the wall! I always spray paint plates, note to self though...don't accidentally put them in the dishwasher, spray paint doesn't like it. :)

Oh! I love that idea! I need to get into the spray paint thing. So many ideas I have and want to do, but I have so little time! :(

I KNOW that I like it!

OK, I just wanted you to know that it is so VERY your fault that I made my first quilt. It is only a baby quilt and not very interesting but I tried and that is what counts. Oh and I didn't tecnhically "quilt" it to completetion so maybe it is just a blanket. Regardless I blame you. So what do you think about that? By the way, I like the plate.

Somer said...

I agree with everyone about the plate, but I also love the temple silhouette.

So what I want to k now is where you put all of these displays in your home. I swear you've shown us 201 different spaces that you've decorated and how do you have that many different places in your house? I don't get it...
Love the wall, though - it looks fantastic!

OK the plate is fabulous and such a great idea. What I'd like to know is where did you get the temple silhouette in the round frame? I'm in love! I so need one. Mimi

Aubrey said...

I like it--even better that Kimba spray painting birds white. White's so personality-ess sometimes.

And please tell me you made that awesome temple silhouette and want the rest of to know how to do it too because even if it's really simple, of course I can't figure it out myself. ;)

Every time I sit down I look for things to change. My husband always helps me. He just laughs and plays along.

I never thought about spray painting a plate. That's a great idea. When I first started blogging there was a blogger that bought shoes at second hand stores and she spray painted them to match her vintage clothing. I haven't tried that, but I do plan to try the spray painted plate!

Thanks for the idea!

There you go taunting me with the paint again!

My to-do list:
1) Make banana bread in the big sink room.
2) Try to win those aqua pans (check, done)
3) Make the people at Fred Meyer wonder why I buy so much spray paint. (check, done).
4) Re-arrange the house. (I suffer from that too).

And look who's above my comment... Amanda... the other person who has me in the paint!!! I smell a conspiracy. Or maybe it's just paint fumes I smell.

Hey V - Heard from a friend of yours named Emily..she knows Burg too...posted a comment and I didn't know how to respond to her as her blog is blocked...anyways...LOVE the pop of red...one of my favs...I am going to buy stock in spray paint...I am getting quite a collection and I'm like you, restless as hell, always changing when my hubby just wants to chill...he knows better than to ask me to slow down though! Take care!

Yup, yup, yup, I am reading blogs again while I should using my quiet time to GET STUFF DONE! But, just wanted to tell you that I LOVE the way this wall turned out. I've been wanting to do the "decorate with plates" thing for awhile, but now that I see how cute yours came out....I MUST do it. Thanks!
