loving weekends again

before the deployment the weekends were my happy makers. i looked forward to them like a kid looks forward to a trip to a candy store.
after a year long deployment and re-adjusting to life with the husband home... i can finally say that i love weekends AGAIN.
********
our agenda this last weekend
*saving the lego star wars republic on the PS3
*enchiladas and roast
*worked together as a family in the yard (the husband's favorite past time)
*worked together as a couple in our home on little fix ups. (my favorite past time)
*relaxed and chated...finished up Chuck with chips and popcorn after the noisemakers were in bed (now we are watching past episodes of "How I Met Your Mother"
*****
and yes my Sundays don't suck anymore.
weekends make me super happy again...now that he's home.
******
ps:thank you for the kindness on the moda tutorial.
yes, more tutorials over there by me soon, i'll keep you posted.
also i'm working on adding more white...maybe i'll be done and show you soon.
*****
hope you had a great weekend...we have a long weekend over here so all the kids are home, so tomorrow it's back to the daily grind and making it through the week with projects and homework and putting out fires here and there. here's to a good rest of the week...do you have anything special planned?

Wow, I wish we got that much done in a weekend, but we usually collapse and recuperate from the weekly grind. I guess I did platn peas and flowers and we trimmed one shrub out of four until my husband accidentally trimmed the extension cord.

PS I like that chippy white pitcher--please don't say you found it at DI because I KNOW I'd never find anything that cool at the DI's up here.

Since I am just getting to know your blogness, I did not know that hubby was deployed! Congratulations that he is home with you, that is so very wonderful.

LOVE Chuck. My hubby just told me there was some danger of cancelation. Where do they get these ratings anyway. Matt and I cannot wait all week for our little Chuck fix. It is not smut. It is funny. It has great twists. Great lovestory. And who couldnt just adore and relate to Chuck all at the same time. wow. did not mean to carry on like that!

Anyway, thrilled your love is home! Congrats.

I totally don't miss the empty feeling when my fiance was deployed. Although, I was finishing my last year in college and I was able to pass my time there. I can't imagine how it is with kiddos. My brother returned from his third tour in mid February on emergency leave because his wife was prego with twins. Deployments stink, but if it weren't for them, we wouldn't be able to freely blog about it!!
Congrats on your weekends! Mini-milestones are always so much more enjoyable, no?!

I am so happy for you to have your weekends back. I am dreading those parts of the deployment. My honey leaves Saturday for 3 weeks before deploying in June. I feel a long year coming on. I do love reading here. You give me hope that it will all be over soon!!!

It does sound like the great weekend. I had a good one as well. We had some nice weather finally, so we were out and in of the house constantly. I love the fact that I had all my windows open most of the weekend and the heat was off.

I know what it's like to HATE weekends. I hope I can keep enjoying mine...we think there maybe a deployment linging due to another weather forecaster breaking his back...because it's not really our turn again yet but what can a girl do? Glad your weekend was SOOO productive.

Tomorrow I am taking my first quilting class...I am not a natural. It's going to be a shaggy raggy. I just did the accucut today getting ready for it. Thanks for pushing me over the edge!

I am so happy for you that you love the weekends again! I am the same way, I live for the weekends. There are so many fun things on my "to do list", but we have been trying to accomplish food storage stuff on the weekends lately (Most of the time important things aren't fun, but I do it.)
Oh, I might go to some garage sales with my friend this weekend!

I am officially hooked.

I'm officially hooked too! My husband is no longer active in the military, but he's a police officer and weekends suck when he's working (which is everyone almost!), so I am only imagine what your life was like with all the added stress of deployment. It's funny how those little things make the weekend isn't it?!

I am another new fan of your blog!

I know what you mean about weekends sucking. My husband is in the Marine Corps and is gearing up for a partial deployment to Afghanistan. He's gone all this month and then home for 2 weeks and then off for 3 months. It's not a year, but it still sucks. And getting ready for church alone with a 1 and 3 year old. oh boy, you know how it goes.

I'm glad I can come here and laugh and be inspired to do something fun.

Don't get too comfortable or vocal about having your helper back in church again - that's a surefire way to get him called to the bishopric or high council or something, haha!

BTW - the picture of your little girl in the next post is awesome!

so glad that your weekends are full of your entire family!

Also, we LOVE Chuck (and I might even have a small crush on his great smile and brown eyes!..er, I mean, if I wasn't a sucker for my husband's blonde hair and blue eyes :)

I just had a huge pang in my tummy after reading this... remembering when my hubby used to deploy (not all that long ago). All the more happier I am that your hubby is home safe and sound... and that Sunday's don't suck anymore! xoxom
