as we round out this week...oh wait it's only wednesday, okay well it feels like it's the end of the week. anywho, as i'm getting ready packing and doing final prep for international quilt market in houston this weekend i can't help to think...what a heck of a ride this has been.when i started this adventure not once did i set a goal or think "i'm going to write a book."
nope. uh uh. as a matter of fact just thinking about it makes me feel like a bout of hives are coming on.
but putting aside of my own personal hive making feelings i'm here to say i'm pretty proud of the hard work and that yes it really did happen and i will be talking about it at market on friday. you can see me in Room 381AB from 1:20-1:50 i'll be talking a little more about the projects in the book.
and i'll be wearing these awesome shoes...because they make me feel important and pretty and confident. and trust me i'll need it up there. too bad they aren't comfortable. ha! oh well. it's okay after a little bit of walking in them...my feet go numb so it's all good.

i will be showing you this scarf i made for sure! oh and i made another wreath...i'll show you that too.
but for now, if you don't mind me, i'll be psyching myself up that i can do this. :) and if not, well when they identify the body, people will know me as the fingerprint-less gal that died petrified in front of a class in houston wearing freaking awesome shoes.

Just try to have fun at School House. Never been to Quilt Market myself. Someday I will, maybe I'll see an awesome, creative Mom torturing her feet in the BEST SHOES EVER, wowing the crowd with humor & grace.

LOVE the shoes, I always wear such high heels and I am 6' tall (@Kimberly above :) )The flowers are so cute......bet they are snapped up in a ♥beat, and if you have leftovers........I am happy to give my address too lol.

I think you will do fine at Msrket. You will have an opportunity to meet some ladies you have only probably known from their blog. Just pretend you are talking to your friends at an informal gathering and you will be fine. Looking forward to your book coming out. I have a couple of your patterns. If the book is anything like your patterns I will definitely be buying it. You explain everything down to the T and always have great step-by-step photos. This visual gal so appreciates that.

Those are a great pair of shoes. Love them. If you happen to have any of the flowers left, which I'm sure you won't, I'll be happy to send you my address to send me one. Maybe you can do a tutorial on them when you get back.

And, I must admit, when I saw those shoes, saw the title of your post, well, I thought you made the grey leather roses for the shoes and glue-gunned them on. That led to questions about how you matched the leather of the shoes, did you dye the shoes, spray paint them, what?
This all happened in my brain in milliseconds, by the way. Then I scrolled down to see the pretty satin flowers and well, life all made sense again!

From what I've read about you from other blogs you will have great time and so will those lucky ladies who are participating and walking away with such cute flowers! Congratulations on getting your book published it is a great accomplishment! Killer shoes and you will look so cute in them. I hope that after a few minutes of talking in your workshop your butterflies will stop and you will be able to enjoy yourself and remember they are there because they love you. Most quilters and sewers are such lovely people!
