Goats are cool, too. My mother had them when I was a teenager. I'd get off the school bus and they'd be hanging out in the front yard. It was soooo embarrassing then; now I just think it's funny ☺

Your cow stories make me laugh. I too have herded cows in flip flops. You should convince your husband to get Dexter cows like my dad - they are small so "easier" to herd. Hahaha whatever. A cow is a cow and no matter what it is still bigger than me (except when they are dexter calves and are smaller than a dog - then they are cute)...I'll stick with you and say no cow herding for me.

I have a couple of questions about painting furniture. I'd love it if you did a post with a few more details about how you do it, since that is what I'm working on lately.
Anyway, so a couple of things I've read online say that you have to prime, then paint with eggshell or flat paint, and then put a coat of polyurethane over that after you've sanded and distressed your piece. Do you put a coat of anything over your paint color after you distress it? I asked the guy at the paint store and he said polyurethane would make it yellowish so he told me to get semi gloss or glossy paint instead, but now I'm wondering b/c all 3 posts on blogs I read said that they did do a coat of this poly stuff, or wax after distressing, to seal it and protect the exposed sanded wood. I listened to the guy and bought semi-gloss paint, but I don't think he knew I would be distressing it, so now I'm worried that I should be putting the other stuff over the top, but I don't know if that will work with semi-gloss paint. Argh! Anyway, I guess what I'm saying is I need a second opinion by someone experienced! Maybe I'm stressing over nothing and it doesn't really matter at all as long as the dang thing looks white! It will be getting heavy use with my kids putting their junk and dishes all over it all the time though!
So anyway, I was just wondering how you paint stuff and if you use anything over the paint as a top coat. Your stuff always seems to turn out so well so that's why I though I'd ask. Also, I was wondering what color you painted your buffet- if you still remember, I know that was a while ago.

I've always wanted goats. To "mow" our lawn (we have a @#$!ing acre of grass) and to make cheese. Then I read some where that after they are done doin' all the cool stuff... you have to eat them!
And then I quickly became content with my neighbor's goat - and I say hi to him every day. And I get to tell people the directions to my house... "turn right after the goat". Wishing you a livestock free weekend!
