she wants a messenger bag

we're meeting up with my mom at my grandma's house this next weekend in los angeles. and my mom gently reminded me that she's still wanting a messenger bag. well she didn't exactly call it that, but when she described what she wanted this is what she described.
she wanted it to rest on her hip, she wanted it just big enough to hold her wallet and keys and sturdy enough to go anywhere, especially the beach. where she goes every day. she practically lives there.

i'm so jealous.

My daughter, Megan, just made one like that! Actually, she made 3 of them (one for her, one for her younger sister, and one for her youngest sister). I wonder if she learned how to make them from you?

Oh, I'm so jealous too...of anyone who lives at the beach...and anyone whose mom lives at the beach...the beach is my favorite, favorite place!!!

I'm Noodles daughter, and yes, we just made bags too! A little different, but still bags. I hope your mom loves hers!
So, I LOVE your bench and wondered if I would ever be so creative as you to see that brown bench and know the beauty it could become. Then about 3 days later I saw the same bench (but more 90's dark green with a brown top version) on Craigs List! So, of course, I snatched it up, painted and distressed it. I have to thank you because I never would have saw the potential and now I love it and the kids argue over who gets to sit on it. Also, I forgot a before picture so I used yours on my blog, but I sighted you as the source of photography. :)
Your girls bed is adorable, so cute as a homemade wooden toddler bed. The boys room would make my son drool. He still shares with his two little sisters!

So, are you jealous of her living near the beach..... or are you jealous of her messenger bag... gosh, wonder who made it, perhaps they would make one for you too. lol

I love it! Did you follow a pattern, or do you have a tut? That looks like the kind of bag I need.

btw, I made the adorable bandana skirt from your tut - it is adorable! I have a couple more on my to-do list!

Going to the beach every day does sound like something I would love to do, too!

I love the bag! I need one like that to carry when I go for walks in the local Mall. Most people leave their purses in their cars, but I'm not that trusting.

By the way, I came across your blog a few days ago. I love it!

cute bag my friend, I also wanted to say that your boys' room looks awesome. It may not be as easy to decorate a boy room, but once you piece together all the finds I feel so accomplished and proud of myself! Good job!

Very cute. I've been really taken with bags lately. I love the green print. Very Sound-of-Music-clothes-made-out-of-curtains-ish! We are going to be in LA, as well, for 8 days starting this weekend with the Brundages. We are going to hit Knotts Berry farm and take in some swimming at the grandparents in the OC. Enjoy your trip!

Lovely, lovely. One of the things I like best about sewing is that you can really make something that exactly suits your needs and specifications. (Maybe I'm a control freak.)

I'd like one of those too, but it would need to be a magic bag. Small enough to be cute and compact but somehow fit diapers, wipes, change of clothes, changing pad, burp cloths, etc. etc. etc. Can you find something like that for me? :-)

On the flooring, go to www.flor.com. You can make area rugs out of modular carpet tiles. Pretty cool stuff. When we redo our flors, I think I'll get this kind of "rug."

Ahh, the beach. Wish I lived closer to it nowadays...growing up near the beach I didn't know how good I had it 'til I was all grown up and living too far from it! Enjoy your visit with family! btw: love the bag. : )
