after picking up GI Joe husband and we finally got to come back to the middle of nowhere (we call home sweet home) there were yellow ribbons and flags (yes there were more than a few) in our front yard. love this community. seriously, if you ever get to live out in the middle of nowhere this should be the middle of nowhere you head to.
i do find it funny how i didn't really realize how tired i was through out this whole deployment. i mean i knew i was tired, and very spent, but now that's he's here, i find the feeling of needing to sleep for days and days and days. i think the adrenalin has finally worn off of "i'm all the kids got so i have to keep this going." i'm really tired, and so is he...but we have a little while before he has to go back to the job he left behind. i think we'll be chilaxing for a bit.

Being a "single" parent for all those moths left you drained. It will be so nice to get back to life and relax a little. I'm so happy for you, your kids and your husband. I think it's been almost as emotional a journey for your readers and for you. Almost.
You probably saw it...but there are also flags at GI Joe's work, and they painted the windows with yellow.
Welcome Home!
It has been 17 years since my husband came home from Desert Storm but I still tear up when I let myself think of that time. I do know where you are so just THANK YOU and God bless you. We had a 4 month old when he was deployed so he missed so much of our first child. They came in on tour buses with a police escort as we all were standing there waiting on them to get off the bus. I was holding my then almost year old daughter and my MIL looked at me and said, "I am going to get to him first." I do not know what happened to me but all I know is that there is video evidence of me snatching that woman by the back of the shirt and throwing her behind me and getting there first.
we had so much fun! thanks for letting us crash at your house!
I've been reading for a while, and I just wanted to tell you how happy I am for you! It's funny how even though we don't know each other, I feel like you're a friend I have coffee with every day. (i'm really not as crazy as that sounded...) I wish you all the best now that GI Joe is home!

Friends are one of the staples in my life - especially the good ones! love your aprons, and hope you get some rest. I bet your husband is tired too.
I am so jealous of Marci and Haley. If I would have known I would have crashed the party by hiding in their bag and jumping out when we got there!!! I am so excited for you and your family!
Chillax away, V! You both deserve at least a MONTH of sleep and rest!
There's no place like home. Next time there's a party at your house I want to come too. :) I'm glad you got to hang with Haley and Marci! Here's to chillaxing with your whole family home, safe and sound.
I Loved the pictures! What did you wear. I thinking about wearing a slinky red dress and do-me boots. What do you think?
oh my gosh rolling laughing! yes the do me boots with the red slinky dress would be awesome! i can't wait to see you in it!
What a wonderful town you live in. Have fun before he goes back to work.
Adorable aprons! and I know the tired feeling you are talking about. My husband traveled a lot when our kids were young, and every time he came home, I had to get used to not being the one that had to keep it all together. It was like I could finally relax. So glad he is home! Have a blessed and wonderful time before he returns to work. Jackie
I always love your po-dunk town comments. I'm still fond of that particular middle of nowhere place myself!
Sweet little aprons!
Hooray for you and your family to have your hero hubby home!
Enjoy catching up and being together again.
Those aprons are so cute. I wish I had some gals to come by and sew...that is my new goal to whip out a sewing talent...is it doable? I sure hope so!
My hubby is military too :)
