so sweet

to say that i'm not happy with this quilt would be lying, to say that i'm happy that it's snowing right now would be lying too. i'm from southern cal i have a reason to think snow should be "visited" and not lived in...so all you snow lovers go out and get cold, i'm staying indoors and pretending the ocean is only a few miles away.
oh and i have a secret: a week from today i'll be together with GI Joe husband for the weekend. no kids involved. so i'm taking a week off of blogging i want to be all primped up and rested so i have no bags under my eyes, i'm also going to focus on "no sewing" for a week i know kind of stressful to do that to myself but i want to work on some other things so i'll be back monday the 19th. take care and see you soon!

How do you possibly sew so fast! The quilt looks terrific! I told Chris that if he is in WA more than a week I was coming up there. Is your mom coming to watch your kids?

V, I just discovered your blog.I love your valentine/little girls quilt! Can you make one for my little girl? I'll pay you! I've looked all over for a simple pink and green quilt. I would attempt to make it myself, But my 5 kids 10 years to 4 months would starve! Have fun with your husband!

Oh, Vanessa, have a great time!!!

I am with you about the snow. We are in Ms. and it can be visited but I don't want it to be a permanent fixture. I like mild winters. However, our hot humid summers can be less than desireable as well.

Your quilt is beautiful but I think I say that about all of them. Good luck with the no sewing thing.

Well it's much easier to check out the finished product on your blog then to cross the street. That's kind of sad I know!

Hi! This is Megan, from Idaho. I found your blog a week or two ago and have been hooked ever since! Your tutorials are heavenly, and I've already made your bandana skirt and a pinwheel quilt top. (Finished that last one last night. I absolutely love your Shangri La pinwheel.) Thank you for sharing!!!
Anyway, I too was without a husband, but just for 12 weeks over the summer. He wasmany states away doing an internship. I felt like you, wanting to stay so very busy so I didn't have to think about or feel that he was gone. Wish I had a sewing machine back then!(Our third child was even born while he was gone!) I can only imagine how trying this has been for you and your family, but I say Way To Go! You did it!!! You're at the END!!! Thanks for inspiring us all and showing us how you made it through!
P.S. I've been trying to figure out how to fix my blog header (pretty writing where I want it, picture cropped how I want it, etc. etc.) and I can't figure it out. Yours looks so nice! So, if you are looking for another tutorial (although it's not a sewing one) I'd LOVE to figure out how to do this!
