vinyl tablecloths make the best...

outdoor decorative pillows. for rainy and snowy seasons you don't have to worry about the water seeping through. in hot sunny weather you don't need to fret over it being sun bleached because you get a whole heck of a lot of vinyl in a vinyl table cloth for small money, and you can make more once the first set get worn down. now if you live in a super windy area like yours truly, make sure you add some rocks inside your pillow to hold 'em down...
these turned out a little on the bright side, but i also found some olive-y greenish sage-y color for the next set. i just thought with all that white stuff the red would look super flashy and nice!

Very cool! I've always hated that patio furniture gets bleached and ruined by the sun and the elements.

I saw some pretty christmas green vinyl table cloths at WalMart the other day and thought of you, wondering, "What the heck does she do with these things? Probably something stinking creative..."

What a great idea. We have just the opposite problem. I can't put anything out because the intense sun in the summer bakes everything to pieces. I wonder if the vinyl would melt?

ok, you've kept us hanging long enough... it's about time you shared your little mystery with the vinyl tablecloth!! ha ha
great idea... do you really put rocks in them?
and what a cheap way to brighten up a porch!

Very cute.

I made some a few years ago and the rain soaked them after a long (unseasonal) rainy summer. They were just on my deck without a roof. Hopefully yours will hold up better than mine.

What a cute idea--I saw some on a blog the lady made with oilcloth, but tablecloths are so much more readily available and easy to find-so awesome idea! (why didn't i think of it first? oh yeah because i'm a lazy sewer.)

This is a super fun idea! I'm going to try it...as soon as I learn how to operate the sewing machine...I'm new at it :)

I found your blog via Kimba and am always excited to find fellow military families. We're recovering from our first Iraq deployment and have heard {rumors} of Afghanistan soon.

I hope the holidays were good to your family and thank you for being a military wife!

I love the splash of color that the red pillows give. I also have white patio furniture (and alot of the white snow hanging around too!) I'll definitly copy this idea when I come across some vinyl tablecloths.
