hello fall

all things fall are happening over here.
this banner was made to add just a little more fall to the place.
my house smells like apple pie (oh i can't wait to show you all my canning! it's sooo pretty!)

as a matter of fact i was so in the fall mood this last weekend, that my 7 year old had to sternly remind me, while at the store, that last year when i bought pumpkins this early in the month, they rotted.
i stared at him, blinked a few times, and slowly unclutched the pumpkin, set it down, and walked away.
okay 7 year old, you are right.
you.are.right.
i'll wait one more week, maybe two. but i REALLY want pumpkins all over my front porch.
sigh.
when did my 7 year old become my reasoning voice?

remember that picture of my walk i showed you? well look! the trees are still holding on to the green, but the rest is starting to get that gold color...i'll keep my eye out for when it actually turns fall colors...i think it will be absolutely gorgeous.

this is my friend's house.
i wish mr v and co would put cute little flower baskets up for me so i could do pretty things like this to my windows. it would be so dreamy.
but he says no
because i wouldn't take care of them, and he would get stuck doing all the work.
weenie.
but oh so right.

I love to see the contrast between the summer and fall picture, thanks for sharing. I bet a snowy one will be cool too. I was just checking my reader for a min before bed, thinking...there are no new posts from my favorites :( oh well I guess I'll get off, and then V and Co. turns bold! Yay a new post! I too am resisting pumpkins all over my porch...but just for now. Thanks for the late night post, now to dream of fall decor :)

Great photo's! And little ones being more reasonable than we are... I actually had that happen with me with my four year old. Now, does that say something about him or about me? Don't want to think about that ;-)

Oh, I hope you know how blessed you are to have a view like that to walk by!!! I would show you mine as a contrast, but it's too pitiful! We have our eye on a place in the country that's just calling our names...

I've been watching the leaves on the trees around my house... bit by bit there's a little more orange every day :) So beautiful! That flower basket's pretty cute! Gives me an idea for my flower boxes out front.

Oh, I love Fall too. It is just a little magical to me for some reason. I just laughed about your 7 year old getting you to not buy the pumpkin. So cute and funny. But, what is a house without lots of pumpkins? I have decided I really need a pumpkin patch in my back yard again next year. We did it once and then my husband said never again. But, that was in the house we were renting and it had a really nice backyard. This house we just bought has a diseaster of a backyard, so before we get it nice might as well have pumpkins right? I sure hope so. Love your bunting too. I am hoping to get one done myself before the month is up. Happy Fall!!

Since when do you need Mr. V to do anything handy related for you? ;)
Me thinks you could do this yourself, and I think you should, because they look adorable!!

Very fallish. I'm so in the mood for fall too. Go ahead, get a pumpkin, what do 7 year olds know anyway? They always think they're so smart... Mimi

I had to *giggle* at your 7 year old. Kids are so funny. We haven't gotten our pumpkins yet. It's been so cool here though that I'm sure they wouldn't rot if we wait to carve them until the week of Halloween.

Haha! We haven't gotten our pumpkins yet either because of the same reason! ;)

Your 7 yr old sounds just like mine. They must get that from their dads. We have a pumpkin patch, but had to pick them and bring them inside before the squirrels got them. I also grow corn, for food and to decorate with but the blasted squirrels got that too, and nothing left. Came home today with a whole tree almost bare, in one day. I love your blog and your pictures are beautiful. Keep making us laugh, please!

I am in Vermont right now and we woke up to snow this morning!! It was so random. The last two days we have spent out and about looking at fall leaves in ME and NH,which has been gorgeous, and then bam- snow!! Crazy weather!
I love your cute banner. I'm working on a fall quilt right now, and just made a fall table runner- I love this season too!
