this post is mainly for my organic eating, healthy living, excersing, just recently cell phone using, hispanic, spitfire of a mother...first off to wish her a happy birthday, but also so verify that once again i am taking good care of her grandchildren and making them eat things that aren't fully processed comes out of an aerosol can and looks fluorescent orange. can i just say one thing here?
i have peas coming out of everywhere. i mean it, i haven't been this regular in years.
had i known how many stinkin' peas i would get from one plant let alone two whole damn rows of plants i probably would of re-thought how many of those little boogers i put into the ground.
"early frostys" (which the kids and i just sit and pick and eat right then and there)
and "oregon sugar pods" (which i currently can't keep up with and find myself swearing every time i go out there to go pick some more...i mean how many ways can i steam and saute these blasted things?)

Good for you! That looks sooooo yummy, how could anyone resist?
Send some our way! We planted some sugar snaps this spring and they haven't done well at all.
I'm right there with you with green beans! Seriously, how many beans can two rows produce. I have even canned 14 quarts and gave away about that many more fresh beans. At least we won't starve this winter!
WOW! That would make any mama proud :)
makes me wish we had a garden
When I was really small our neighbor had peas in his garden. They were so good I ate every.single.one of his peas one afternoon, right off the plants. Yummmy.
Perhaps you should start blanching and freezing some of them?
I was good to mention what Sarah mentioned. Blanch and freeze so you can enjoy your bounty during the winter months.
I am so glad you garden has done well. I remember your earlier posts saying you weren't sure if you would see anything....and now look...your cup runneth over.
Yummy! Sorry about the overload, but they look delicious!

Yum! I cant wait to have a garden next year. I am excited. I will remember not to plant a lot..
So funny! You dish looks yummy! I'm saying you need to go into the puree'd peas baby food biz! Think about it! The applesauce worked for Diane Keaton in Baby Boom! haha Jenn
Count your blessings! We had record heat and no rain for weeks last month and it killed my garden. I wish I had fresh veggies I grew myself!
Freeze the peas! You can flash boil them and store them for winter.
You can keep all those peas... I can't even trick my kids or my hubby into eating anything green. Go figure!
Ha--at least you're picking and using them. I let most of mine waste on the vine. I don't know why I plant a garden becasue I get so overwhelmed with the bounty harvest and then ignore what's growing. The only thing I love picking and pick all of is our pumpkins--can't plant enough of those.
YEAH! That stir fry looks yummy. I have never grown peas. Maybe next year.
We freeze them V! Then we have them all year long. I know your mama is proud. :)
MMMMmmmm I'll take ALL the extras off your hands!! How Yummy!!!
Have you tried them raw as soon as you pick them? YUMMY! I even had a dog who followed me around the garden hoping for fresh peas.
That is the funniest post I've ever read!!!!!
Your veggies look beautiful! I decided yesterday I'm going to do my veggie garden next yr and grow green beans, peas, tomatoes, zucchini etc :)
Mmm! What recipe is that last picture? It looks scrumptious!
We had loads of sugar snap peas in our garden last year so my son used to take bags of them to kindergarten to share with his friends.
Lovely!!
V...looks so yummy! Thanks for sharing with us!
My kids love to eat those right off the plant. They get a kick out of trying to open them and pick out the little morsels of goodies inside. Who thought peas would be such and interactive plant for the chillens?
isn't fresh produce from the garden the best? i almost fell off my chair when my son asked to taste zucchini and then proclaimed that he LIKED it. oh, my. never would have seen that one coming. :)
happy birthday to your mom!
Happy birthday to your mom.....it is my mom's b-day too! (and yummy looking peas!)
Can't you freeze your 'boogers'?
Freeze the suckers! In the winter you'll be cravin for em nightly!
Well, I honestly don't feel cool or talented enough to comment here, but I had to tell you how awesome that plate of noodles and snap peas look! I think you've convinced me to grow sugar snaps/snow peas next growing season!
Hey I know your in-laws. Well at least I remember them from when I was little. I thought you were related to them but wasn't sure. How funny what a small world
I don't even like peas, but that stir fry stuff you have going on looks yum-a-licious.
We might need that recipe posted.
