this is how katie's room was painted when we moved in. and you are lucky you can't smell through pictures cause it would knock you on your butt.katie's room is 100% better than what it was when we first moved in. but i still feel in limbo with her room. i would love to put up white bead board and paint it a soft cream up above. but just like the rest of the house, we have to save up the money to fix it. a few other projects are in the works before we can get to this one.
since we moved her in her toddler bed i haven't really liked how everything was situated in her room, so last week (during my week off of blogging) i decided that was going to tackle trying to find the "right" place for everything.
i love how the nester does her curtains, but i'm not sure exactly what i'm going to do. i mean i could do a roman shade or romantic curtains that swoop and hit the ground...i just don't know and so it sits.
i also moved her bed to where her big bed is going to be (its an antique metal frame and trust me i'm excited.)
but for now, her room will stay like this.
at least she seems to really like it.
and for it mainly being second hand and hand made stuff...
i think i can see a pretty cute future when i can spend a little bit of money on it.

Its so cute I could cry. How I wish our girls' room was like that. Where do you keep the toys?
Such a lovely room.
She certainly seems to be enjoying it.
That quilt in the wall is divine!!
Andi :-)
I think it is adorable. She certainly has lots of room to play and pretend...just what every girl loves :o)
I think it's a sweet little girls room and she will always remember how special her mommy made it for her.
Have a blessed day!
I love the room. Where did you find the little iron? I found an ironing board at GW like the one you have. I just need to make the cover. I haven't found the right iron yet, though.
Thanks for sharing
So cute, V, I miss you! Still in love with Edward?
What a precious room! Ca-Ute!:) Lori
what a cute room! Do you mind sharing where you got the toddler bed from? I just adore it! :)
what a adorable room...if i was little i would never want to leave it!
I LOVE the room! Beadboard would be pretty, but I think it's still super cute as is. I love the mix of colors you have in there. Oh, and where did you find the adorable ironing board? It's just too sweet!
Her room is so cute. Bead board would be adorable.
okay the little ironing board and the iron were from a craft place called "quilted bear" it's where i got the highchair as well. it was all plain wood. i painted and made a cover for the ironing board
the toddler bed was made by my father in law.
as for where i put all the toy:
there are three bins under her bed that gather most of her toys and then there are are few shelves that are in her closet that hold the rest.
she doesn't have a ton of toys, but def more than the boys! yikes!
That is such a cute room--looks like fun!
The room looks so sweet to me and perfect for a toddler. Lots of play room for her. The quilt is beautiful.
The room looks absolutely precious for a darling little one like your girl! Very, very sweet! If she won't pull on the curtains, I think soft romantic ones would be very sweet! Thanks for sharing!
This is darling! I think every little girl would love to have a room like this!
I so LOVE her room, it is a HAPPY place to be!
Such a sweet and happy girly room!
It looks so cute!
I'm kind of anti-curtain. Does that make me weird? (no, lots of other things make me weird...)
Most of my windows have just blinds, but no curtains.
darling! i've been trying to come up with a room arrangement for my little girl too, so thanks for the inspiration. did you buy or make that little kitchenette?
The room is so pretty and perfect for her!
I can't help you much with the curtains. I always have the same problem. I do better if it's a single window and not a double one. I always want to put something down the middle because a valance just doesn't seem to work, for me at least.
You could hang a little banner (the ones with triangles or make flowers and connect them together banner style) that drape from one corner to the other from a string. You could do flowers and butterflies; just alternate them.
Wasn't there a tutorial in moda's bakeshop on different colored streamers with beads? That would be cute, too!
I love this bedroom! I have two girls and have been really trying to mesh girly and kid friendly with how I would decorate the rest of my house. You have done this beautifully. I am inspired! :)
Her room is very cute! I am struggling with our kids' rooms. With square/rectangle rooms and big stuff, I cant seem to figure it out just right.
Gosh, that's a cute room. I absolutely love the quilt on the wall. I wish I'd been into quilting when my daughter was young. That just looks so nice!
I put up white bead board in the bathroom of our 'other house' (that we recently sold sob sob) last summer. It was pretty easy to do, even for me. And not too expensive.
Love it. She will have fond memories of her room when she leaves home.
Renee
if you move the bed around to be under the window you would have more floor space-
Um, could you come decorate my room too?
How perfect! Does she need a roommate? I won't even need to bring any of my stuff, I'll just play with her cute stuff! Great job!
That toddler bed is the cutest I've ever seen. I wish I were related to people who knew how to build furniture--or that I could do it myself. I'm waiting for a house with garage that can house power tools. And to stop being pregnant or nursing might help too, right?
Her room is darling. I'm a big fan of Roman shades. They'd look good with curtains sweeping to the floor on either side, but if she already has nice blinds, I guess I wouldn't bother buying a shade. We had crappy blinds in our whole house that fell apart if yanked on too hard (I was not mad, just in a hurry) and I like that Roman shades can't be messed with during the day, like blind slats, and that they make a neat, tidy valance when pulled up. Just hang the cleats high forwrapping the cords on--my son almost hung himself one day with our cords. Scary.
What a cute room! Wow and that beautiful quilt really pops out with all those rich beautiful colors! Way better than that ugly wall before. I love all the little details that are laid out in her room. You really have an eye for design. Love seeing what you are up to.
i want a room that cute! i love it!!!
