This is a compensated review by BlogHer and Intel.
hey there! happy pre thanksgiving day. have i mentioned this is my favorite holiday? i can't wait!
i've been like that since i can remember. as a matter of fact my mom tells me to slow down...she's been singing that tune since i can remember! love you mom!
so now that i'm a mom and a blogger and try my hand at making patterns and on the community council for the elementary school and just recently got asked to be in the presidency over the elementary school kids in my church, not to mention making sure i attempt to keep the house somewhat clean and kids on task... all on a daily and weekly basis... i think i can say that i must in fact STILL multitask a lot. plus well, i'm usually running around with five or more things on my mind and in my hands at any given point.
there is one thing i've made a conscience effort this year, and that was to try to work only when the kids are at school because i'm mom first and EVERYTHING ELSE second. so i've tried real hard not to be locked away in my office while the kiddos are around. sometimes i don't get everything done before they come home from school. i have to leave things half way done and walk away from them till i can get to them at a more convenient time. as you can imagine, editing pictures, answering emails, and blogging in general has taken a huge hit... by the way if you've emailed a question and not heard back from me in a little while i guess this is my way of saying "sorry! i'm on a limited time frame!"
volunteering, homework, cub scouts, church activities, music, art lessons, and sports just to name a few (aka mom duties), limit my time being in a stationary spot for too long as well.
would i change anything about it?
no FREAKING way.
do my "other extra curricular activities" not get taken care of all the time?
oh heck yeah.
but that's what i've decided:
kids first everything else after.
okay so enter in Intel and blogher. i was asked to review a lap top with an Intel core i5 processor and a WiDi adaptor allowing me to use my HDTV as a monitor. they'd like to see if this would help me with my "other activities"
sure, let's really see see if in fact a lap top (which the husband and i have been talking about getting me) would help me multitask a little better.
and well the lap top has been provided, by Intel and shall we see?
give me till monday and i'll come back and report the differences, if any.
and now enter where you are grateful for reading this post today
so a big THANKS to Intel and blogher for this next part:
for a chance to win a $250 gift visa card for Best Buy:

i'm so happy.
we'll talk soon.

the biggest multitasker EVER! i make ALOT of lists...every day multiple lists. i even makes lists of what i need to get done each day...things are busy! and i use my calendar too. more lists! i would LOVE a best buy gift card for sure! thanks for reminding me what's more important...THE KIDS for sure!
I have always been a multi-tasker. I work full time, am a mom, and try my hardest to be a betty crocker style wife. :) I love to cook, clean, and craft plus I love my job so while I would love to be at home with my baby the bills have to be paid and at least I get some grown-up conversations. I feel that the best way to stay on "task" is to have a plan I plan everything! I think the hardest part was being pregnant and never knowing when you are going to go in labor. When things are not in order I have a hard time dealing with it but while I like to keep my life in order my craft room is a completely different story. It looks like a tornado went through everyday and when I get it cleaned within 24 hours of working on a project it is a mess again :)

I am a very poor multi-tasker, and though I often find myself doing it, I don't enjoy it. It makes me feel very, very stressed. I really do much better if I can focus on one thing at a time. Knowing that, for me, I find I am a better mother if I limit my outside activities. If I find myself too busy, I feel as though I end up resenting my children because they are interrupting what I need to do.

I do multitask, sometimes poorly. I let things burn on the stove while I run back to sew just one more seam, I forget that I left something in one room while I bounce into another. But I never burn my baked goods and the kids get heard so that's a start I guess!
Multitasking is the only way to get things done. My sewing room is right connected to my laundry room. So when I'm doing laundry and waiting for the next step, I'm sewing or ironing! marykolb at charter dot net
I'm not a fan of multi-tasking. I like to work on a project and complete it in it's entirety before moving on to the next project. Too many unfinished projects make me incredibly anxious!!
kiki.cheers@gmail.com
I think I get less done when I multitask, but I still do it. For instance, I am eating lunch while I read your blog!
I am a HUGE multi-tasker. I am constantly doing laundry, cooking dinner and doing homework. Sometimes it turns out a mess but other times it works out great and I save lots of time.
mccoyj10 at gmail dot com
I think all moms have to be multitaskers, especially with multiple kids. But, its so easy to forget something and let that ball drop, my biggest issue is leaving the laundry in the washer too long. Then I have to wash it all over again, so that it doesn't get that mildew-y smell. Speaking of- I better go switch the laundry now!

I have to be a multitasker at work and at home. I'm not very good at it though. I can be quite absent minded.
Ha, my Mom always says the same thing. My husband, too. I just don't stop going! One of my "tricks" of multitasking is mentally laying out everything in my head, and then planning a 'map' that will let me hit every spot, grab every box, get every item, etc. that i need without having to double back because I forgot something. I try to minimize time and effort so i can get even more done.
ps- If I won this giveaway my husband would flip. All he wants for Christmas is a gift card to Best Buy and having an extra $250 for him would be such a surprise!! So I'm crossing my fingers!

I am not a multitasker. Sometimes I wish I was though. I wonder if I could get more done?
I am definitely a multitasker. I am also a list maker, that is how I keep track of everything I have going on.
multitasker! I have no special way just run around doing it :)
If I'm not always doing two things at once, I feel like I should be! I wish I could just sit and relax without feeling like I need to be working on something.
Having the computer and my crafting supplies out in the living room helps me to get things accomplished while keeping an eye on the kids. I'm excited that you got a free laptop! You'll love it!
melissa-yoder21@msn.com
I don't think it's possible to be a mother and NOT be a multitasker as well. If I don't do more than one thing at a time nothing would get done! Whenever I can cross tasks off my lists my life gets a little less stressful.
Multitasker! I'm teacher, so I get practice every day! I make a lot of lists, which helps, and I try hard not to stress if I ever let the ball drop on something (especially if it's something little, and it's all little really, right?).
I am a definite multitasker - unlike my husband who can focus like a laser beam. So together we do pretty well. Thanks for the giveaway!

I'm definitely a multitasker, but most of the time I don't do it very well. I'm always trying to remember something!

My multi-tasking sucess depends on the world's greatest invention - Post Its!! If it weren't for those friendly, colorful reminders all over my desk, I would never remember which project was started or half-way completed. Every Christmas my family stuffs my stocking full of those amazing helpers. Tee hee hee.
I am always TRYING to multi-task. This is because I am so ADD, I always have a million things going on at once and rarely finish them all. :-)
I think it is hard to be a mom and NOT multitask! So much to do and think about and day all at once.
How do we do it? Just like you. You HAVE to prioritize! If you don't prioritize you end up with an often wasted day. And yes, I waste many days away. :)

I'm a huge multitasker. I'm constantly trying to do 50 things at once. I hope I could one day learn to take things slow.
fsclassen@gmail.com
Pre-planning meals has been the biggest time saver for me! When you know what you are making and it's unthawing, marinating, simmering or rising that is one less stress for me! It frees my time up for all the other things that need my attention. Also having the dishwasher and laundry constantly running so things don't get piled up!
maar04@comcast.net
Definitely a multitasker! I dont know, I just do! :)
I'm definitely a multitasker...I have to be, I'm a nursing student. Good organization and time management skills are definitely important. I do a lot of planning ahead and I try to anticipate obstacles that may crop up.
gosia727(at)gmail(dot)com
I can be a multi-tasker if I need to be. Sometimes I just start a bunch of things and don't get any of them done. But if I have a deadline, I am pretty good at it.
Wow, nice work if you can get it:>) And a nice give-away! COunt me in. I'm off to tweet the news.
I just tweeted the news! Here's the link http://twitter.com/#!/kathyscottage and my email is : kathyscottage@yahoo.com
I suck at multitasking. I have to focus on one thing at a time. It's safer for everyone that way!
gingerleeman@yahoo.com
I am a multitasker, but poorly. Which explains why I'm always absent-minded most of the time!
I am a total multi tasker. I don't think I am that good at it because everything only gets part of my attention...but I find myself working on a craft, while watching tv....stopping during the commercial to clean the kitchen...etc. maggie.strebel@gmail.com
Oh my - I am the definition of a multi tasker! it's the only way I can do things!
I'm a multitasker, but just find myself doing it. No rhyme or reason which is probably why I get myself stressed out! amace@cox.net
I have a billion things going on in my head all day long while at work, school and home. You bet I'm a multitasker. What a great gift this would be to win. Thanks so much!
I was actually surprised how much a laptop helped me be wherever my kids were and still get done things I need to do. Unfortunately, I am also a huge procrastinator, so I'm usually multi-tasking on a frantic schedule. I just keep telling myself that someday I'll catch up...
I'm constantly multi-tasking. I only watch tv (Hulu!) when I'm in my sewing room so I can sew and "listen" at the same time. When I do household chores, I always include my 3 year old -- we count the clean plates, we sing songs while I scrub the toilet, we talk about the colors of our dirty laundry. When I brush my teeth, I use a lysol wipe to clean off the bathroom counter .. lol! However, there are definetly times when I sit down to play games or to read to my kids and I only focus on them. These are truly the best moments. :)
I am most definitely a multitasker! As we speak I am doing several other things...things that I should probably be paying more attention to. Oh well, this giveaway is too awesome to pass up! Thanks!
kamijobee@yahoo.com
I multi-task although I don't know if it is the best thing to do. Right now I have mac and cheese half way done, the second pecan pie in the oven and I'm checking the blogs... I think two things at once is a bare minimum. Thanks for the chance.
I try to multitask, but there is no freaking way. It leaves me feeling even more scattered. :S
Happy Thanksgiving!
definately a multitasker. 4 young kids, husband that works full time, old house, tons of laundry, short order cook at our home, oh, and a home based business that always goes crazy this time of year. what i wouldn't give to be more organized, have more time to sew, and a glass of wine!
happy thanksgiving, and thanks for sharing your life with everyone. i think most of us can relate to things that you post. thanks for the laughs and for the fabulous ideas!
sara
How do I multi-task? Lists.... lots of lists. I am trying to just keep one master list, rather than one in every room! Crossing tasks off the list is a beautiful thing.
I do multitask, but it usually ruins everything I'm doing. Any time I try to make dinner while doing anything else- talking on the phone, helping kids with homework, feeding the baby- something gets burned or ruined in some way. I guess multitasking isn't for everyone.
jesslinq at gmail dot com
I try to check my e-mails on my phone while waiting in the car to pick up kids. That way I'm not stuck in front of the computer at home. I also always carry a book with me to read while those few minutes add up while waiting, too.
I'm a multi-tasker (although not as effective now that I"m pregnant and forget what I'm in the middle of half the time...). I survive by making lists and keeping the list and my open laptop right on the counter where I walk past them all the time. I also set the kitchen timer a lot when there is something I need to remember to do in 10 minutes or whatever.

I'm totally a multi-tasker! I drive 30 minutes each way to work and that "down" time drives me nuts!!
I'm "old school" as my husband would say....I have a plain old yellow pad that I write TO DO LISTS....SEWING LISTS...GROCERY LISTS...on and the list goes on.... I believe what my mother once told me that the busiest people are the ones that get the most accomplished.
I'm a muli-tasker - I'm just not sure how I do it. Maybe once I started working at home it became more obvious: run a load of laundry; take the dogs for a walk along with the smartphone and our work instant messaging app and email

What would we do with out the ability to multi-task in life??? I think I would be so bored if I wasn't a multi-tasker. I definitely rely on my computer to help me do a million things at once, blog, keep in touch with friends and family, shop and not to mention stay inspired with things like nie nie diaries! So thankful for technology and the way it eases my life!
tdrage@gmail.com
Well, let's just say that I try to multitask- but end up telling myself to slow down and concentrate- can cause a huge problem sometimes!!:)
Thanks for the chance!
My best time saver is that when I go grocery shopping and I am putting everything away, I will wash and chop all my veggies and put them in different containers or baggies, it saves SO much time when making dinner through the week,I will also cook and meat I can such as hamburger for tacos or whatever,

I'm such a multi-tasker! I love to do my homework while surfing Facebook. But I manage to do everything on time even with all the distractions.

I am a multi-tasker. I start early in the morning when I have the most creative energy with a pre-determined list in my head (or sometimes on paper) and I just go to town. I sew a strip, clean the toilet, sew a block, wash the dishes, sew, dust, sew,.....you get the picture. By the time I start to wind down, everything is done. Of course, it helps to live alone:)! ~karen
Oh yes! I am a multi-tasker. With working full time as a teacher and raising two kids under the age of 4, I have to keep myself super organized. My favorite tool is cozi.com. It helps me track what I have going on as well as the activities of my husband and kids. In addition, we can set reminders to our email or phone - I LOVE IT and couldn't live without it!
andreahardman at comcast dot net
The answer to successful, or sort of successful, multitasking is to make a list! Since I always have so many things to do the only way I can remember is to put them on the list.
I even put things on my list after I do them just so I can cross them off!!!
My email is nlmcelwee (at) yahoo.com.
Thanks for this great giveaway, and I love your blog.
Everyone teases me about this bit of multitasking I do: I often crochet or knit WHILE I'm exercising on my elliptical machine AND watching TV episodes online. (With my laptop, which is set up on a stack of yarn bins near the exercise machine.)
I get a good workout (level 10 so I can go slowly), get some project part-way done, AND rot my brain with TV. I know it's pretty sick, but it works for me!
I have always been a multitasker! I can't just sit and watch TV or a movie, so I crochet while I watch. I make lots and lots of lists to keep track of everything. I am baking while I am cleaning, cleaning while I am playing with the kids, playing with the kids while I am crafting...always 2 or 3 things at once. Honestly, as weird as it sounds, I think it is what keeps me sane!
These days I have to write a lot of it down lol, that way I can remember all of the stuff I am juggling :0) Its like having a seven year old and an infant while baby sitting a cousin's child so she can work :0) You put the infant in the back pack and everyone holds a hand. You do what you gotta do! Happy Thanksgiving, Sarah
I am a multi tasker too, but not in a good way. I am easily distracted and then start something else. I desperately need to start a filing system and keep up with my paperwork.
I have to be a multi-tasker with four children, and all of them are in activities! The only way for me to try (doesn't always work)to keep things in order and up to date is to make a to do list in the morning and prioritize it by importance.
waskybratt@comcast.net
I would say I am multi tasker. Seems I always have a list of things I need to get done. I always have a number of projects in the works and am over joyed when one is finished.
lsandes@comcast.net
i TRY but i'm not the best multi-tasker. i get sidetracked a lot so now i make tons of lists and post-its to make sure i get things done and on time.
lilxcarebear (at) yahoo (dot) com
I try!! There is ALWAYS laundry being done... meat thawing...meal planning going on while we watch Curious George...sing songs while changing diapers... good times! I gotta have lists too, to keep me on track. Thanks for the great giveaway!
I am mom, school teacher, sister, and a daughter.....i can do it all.........sometimes.........i think i am a multitasker.............
Multi-tasking is the ONLY way anything gets done around here! Honestly, I don't know how I do it, I just do. And by the end of the day I am thankful that a few more things were accomplished all the while dealing with everyday life and motherhood :)
I don't think it is possible to not be a multi-tasker as a mom. I have 3 kids and work full-time. I am constantly multi-tasking. Making lunches while putting dinner in the crockpot and signing off on a reading log!
barkertga@gmail.com
I'm a HUGE multi-tasker, and I spend a lot of time on the computer. There's never a moment where I don't feel like something is yet to be done. If I do have an idle moment, I'm thinking about what else needs to be done, how I'm going to do it, when I'm going to do it, and in what order so as to make the most efficient use of my time. : )
Oh, yes, multitasking is my game. As I am a new mama and full-time employee, I've really had to get it together - I make tons of lists to stay organized and ask for help when I need it!
heathermead4@hotmail.com
I always have to multitask also since I work and have 3 little ones at home, along with being a crafty chica. It's even worse when I'm pursuing my schooling. To manage, I just learned what could slide a little. No one can do everything perfectly all the time. You just have to make your priority list, and family should always be at the top of that. Nothing else matters as much as that.
As an older mom, I feel like all I do is multi-task. My main ways of staying on track are post-it notes, lists, and notes that I either put in the middle of the floor or hold in my hand. Being an older mom has its advantages but a good memory isn't one of them. Multi-tasking is a constant need and a constant challenge.
awamom at yahoo dot com
Is it multitasking or ADD? I think it might be the latter for me:) Either way I am a multi-tasker to the max!
dmarlatt78@yanoo.com
I am a multi-tasker. As my day job is a police dispatcher, there's not a time when I'm not doing at least 2 things at once to keep up with the pace. It spills over at home and I'm always doing more than one thing at a time including web browsing..I always have at least 2 windows open when I'm surfing the net.

I'm a multitasker and a constant to-do list maker. That's how I roll :)
sierrasjensen{at}gmail{dot}com
Am I a multi-tasker? I try to be. I have a very active 17 month old. I try to get the house clean while always cleaning up behind him because OH HOW does he get into all the drawers and pull out everything and play with it then either dump it behind the childproof gate to the stairs or put it in another drawer, all while I'm trying to make dinner or do some laundry but I totally agree with you...KIDS COME FIRST, everything else can pile up in the corner....heeheehee
I try not to be a multi-tasker, I have found it is difficult just to focus on doing one thing at a time. But my natural tendency to multi-task always wins, right now I am responding to this post, feeding my son breakfast and making a pie.
I think with having kids you become a multitasker bt default! I am constantly beginning something only to be interrupted by one of the girls. Only to come back hours later and remember to get it done. Lists help and as the girls are getting older they help more too!

i am always multi tasking because i work out of my house. i always talk on the phone with a set of headphones so i can cook/clean/type while i'm talking! and i always have breakfast at my desk while going through my morning emails!
I am a total mulitasker and am annoyed at people who aren't. Thanks!
I totally multi-task, with everything! I can't sit down to do one thing and not do anything else, my mind won't let me. I can't even sit down to a relaxing movie without having to crochet, sew, cook, or do something else. It gets so bad sometimes that I can't go to sleep because of all the things on my mind that I could be getting done. How to get out of this habit, I have no idea. Thanks for the giveaway. joshandrebecca(at)yahoo(dot)com
I am a big multi-tasker! Honestly, I love to sit for just 5 minutes each morning and mentally (or physically) make a list of all the things I need to get done during the day and the times I have to do them. Then I get to insert the things I want to do! A little restrictive at times, but it is good for me to stop a project because it is time to go pick up a kindergartener, or to prep dinner. My family doesn't mind my crafting as long as basic needs like food and clean underwear come first!
I have to focus on what I am doing so if I try to do to many things at once, nothing gets finished.

With my crazy life, I have to be a multi-tasker! I'm actually finding some recent free time as I was released from being the president of the teenagers in our church group! As you said, I make certain my family comes first. This usually means my duties at home (cook, clean...) comes second or my first priority is not met as easily. It seems like the family is happier when the house if functioning also. I quilt, I read, I exercise, I bake, I organize... on my free time. I enjoy every second of my crazy life.

With four daughters and my husband in med school, I am the the queen of multi-tasking! I multi-task at home and at work. Right now I'm doing laundry and reading blogs....fun, fun. Thanks for the opportunity!
I am absolutely a multi-tasker. I'm a single mom, so I don't really have a choice. I go to school full-time while taking care of my son and working a part-time job. Who isn't multi-tasking these days, esp. us moms!?
xxamyxleexx@hotmail.com
II have been a multitasker forever.......like 40 years at least. My kids are 35 and 37 this year. I am always doing some kind of sewing while hanging out and watching tv, etc. philrwa@mashell.com
I had this same conversation with myself not too long ago! I am a MULTI multi tasker but alooong time ago I did have to put kids first and the other stuff 2nd. I think the reason for the thought was back when the children were little I DID focus on them and through that I was able to get a lot done. Now that they are grown it seems harder. Yeah no computer stuff back then but no matter where ofr when you lived Life is as busy as we make it!! I can't wait to here about your test of the new lap top!! Soo would love to win!!
Lisa
I am not a great multi-tasker. I like to get one thing done at a time. I CAN multitask but it makes me feel stressed.
I'm always doing laundry while doing all the other household chores and taking care of the kids. Now if I could just put them away.....
puebar@gmail.com
Yes I am-and I am not sure how I do it-I just do it:)

I think all girls learn to multitask eventually. I love writing lists and then checking them all off by the end of the day. Mutitasking is the only way to go!
I am a mult-tasker to the extreme. I think I need to step back and enjoy doing ONLY ONE thing at a time once in a while.
missstamper@yahoo.com
I find myself multitasking somehow nearly every minute of every day. And sometimes it annoys me! So when the realization hits me, I stop, figure out what the most important thing is at that moment and try to calmly focus on it. Coming to the realization that as moms, we're simply NOT going to get everything done that we want to get done, is hard!
I am definitely a multi-tasker too!
I would love a laptop, so, like you, when i'm working at home, I could at least be in the same room as my kids:)
Enjoy!
yes, i'm a multi-tasker. usually the cooking suffers because of it.

definately a multi-tasker.

I try very hard to be a multi-tasker...I don't know how successful I am though.
melyni.powell@gmail.com
I'm a total multi-tasker. I survive thanks to a pretty good memory and a good (and large) planner ... when when it all falls apart it TOTALLY crashes. I don't depend on an electronic planner, either. I like to see the WHOLE plan everytime I add something to it. tracyloops@comcast.net
I am a multi-tasker even when I try not to be. What helps me most is making a list. It help me to not freak out and I can group things together to work faster.
arlindafelix@gmail.com
I'm definitely a multi-tasker. I'm always thinking about what needs to get to done and how can I get it done the quickest way possible. I leave piles of things on the stairs that need to go back up. I just kind of go about my multi-tasking that way.
Apparently I'm not a multi-tasker when it comes to leaving comments...
anita@monery.net
I'm a good mutitasker. I like things neat and I have 3 boys. In fact, I am the only girl in the house even including the animals.
I would say my best tip is just to have quiet/prayer time 1st thing in the morning. You can't give out what you don't have. You have to take time to put back into yourself.

I am a pro at multi-tasking and love doing it. I feel so super efficent when I can answer email, talk on the phone and cut coupons in between lags online. Ka-chow!
denisekent07@yahoo.comm
Does starting a bunch of projects and feeling like you don't finish any count as multitasking? : ) I have three kids and work part-time from home, so every minute I can get something done counts.
mitchell3302@comcast.net
Multi-tasking? It's all about one load of laundry at a time! ddn4@yahoo.com
I have to go back to my old school ways...making lists, crossing things off, carrying over items. At least if it is on a list I don't have to remember it, just remember the list! It helps if I have multiple places to go to, I can organize my driving based on whats on the list.
I think all parents are multi-taskers. We have no choice. I keep every together with to do list and a calendar. Thank you for the giveaway
I am definitely and I live for to do lists! scg00387 at yahoo dot com

I am a multitasker, albeit a somewhat poor one! I forget what I'm doing in the middle of my task all the time! But when I do it successfully, I usually do it by being organized as far in advance as possible!

What an amazing giveaway. I am not a very good multi-tasker, which is why I probably don't get very many projects done.
abpicanco@msn.com
Love to multitask, can hardly stand to do 1 thing at a time
I teach online and often do it while watching TV or sew and etc.
Staying organized and prioritizing are my essentials!
I'm a cronic multi-tasker. I don't think I'm ever just sitting without having my hands busy with one thing and my mind on something else. It helps me to write things down so that I keep projects in order.
I am the ultimate multi-tasker...at work..I will be talking to a co-worker, eating lunch and typing a profile..all without missing a beat...at home...I can cook dinner...help 2 kids with homework and am probably on the phone for work.... I don't feel right if 2 or 3 things aren't happening at once!!!
I'm a very big multitasker. Unfortunately, I don't do it very well without a list. Otherwise, I am constantly starting projects and never finishing them!
Evin5 at aol dot com
I'm totally a multi-tasker! I wouldn't have it any other way. Why do only one thing? ;)
I do everything with a baby on my hip and a 4 year old trailing behind me with a constant barrage of questions...=)

With a two year old you have to be a multi tasker. I am constantly thinking about how to do things differnently to shave a few minutes here and a few there.
My husband is always laughing at how many things I have going on at any given time. I am in a similar boat as you with the mommy first, everything else comes second.
i think most moms are..i have to cook dinner do laundry and play at the same time
nannypanpan at sbcglobal.net
so funny! just read an article last night in one of my subscriptions that said multitasking can actually have long term negative effects and actually hinder your ability to effectively focus on even one thing! want to hang out together when we're old? i'm sure i'll be a barrel of inability to focus fun! (kellisueclawson@gmail.com)
Ha! no way can I do only one thing at a time. I never succeed in a good grilled cheese because I can't stand there and wait for them to be done.....I'm off to check something else and then, blammo!, they've burned.
I so get it!
sleino4 at yahoo dot com
Today I decided multitasking has WORN ME OUT!!! New baby, 3 year old, moving across the country, holidays, everything else!... I'm taking today off!!
but i'd love to win a new lap top :)

Lists, lists, lists.
Quiet time to reflect on such lists.
Then tackle lists.
Then review lists to see how far I've gotten and start again!
That's how I survive. When I'm too busy to even make a list I get all anxious and feel like the the world is closing in around me.
I heart lists. :)
The only way I can get things done is with a detailed list and a strong dose of caffiene!
multitasking is the only way i could get anything done
karinaroselee at gmail dot com
I do multitask and it helps to have lists of things to do and I try to stay organized and prepared ahead of time. I try to have part of the work done ahead of time and then I can do small amounts in between other jobs.
I'm a mom of three kids under the age of three so I'm constantly doing more than one thing at once. I wish someone would give me the trick to keeping all those balls in the air without dropping one (or two) on a daily basis! But, as you said, the kids always come first.
I too am a multi-tasker- how can you not be when you play so many roles. However I am trying to give both my husband and son some daily time with all of my attention on what we are doing or talking about. My family has to be top priority!
pkseawright@me.com
I'm a master multi-tasker and I'll never understand why the majority of men do not posses this talent.
I usually prioritize in the order of my liking... unless it's for my girls and then they come first.
I am becoming a multi tasker more and more as my kids grow. It is hard to sit and watch TV anymore without some hand sewing, knitting, a book, or my phone to check my email in my hands. I like to try and set little goals for myself to see what I can get done each day. Now if only that housework would do itself, I'd get so much more done!
With 5 children I have to be a multi tasker.
chpaints@gmail.com
So far I am not a good multi-tasker, or maybe I am but I have not noticed?? hmm but i think list would help me out!
Some days I can multi-task and get lots done, then other days I can't even get one thing done much less several at once!!
nettecan at hotmail dot com
i'm a multi-tasker by necessity really, not by choice. i usually have so many things going that i can't keep them straight which results in lots of pointless running around/back and forth from one room to another where i can't remember what i even went in there for LOL so you don't really want MY methodology on multi-tasking....but i'd love to win the giveaway :)
I am a big-time multi-tasker. With 3 kids (ages 8 to 18), a full-time job requiring long days, and many active interests of my own, I have to be! The key for me is organization -- doing as much ahead of time as possible, making lists, delegating jobs, etc. However, when this breaks down, it's NOT pretty!
I am not good at multitasking just beacuse I need a list and need to go through it one thing at a time!
My MILITARY husband - he is a pilot for the Navy has required me to not only be a multi-tasker (which I was way before I met him) but also forced me to learn to "adjust" as well as multi-task. With a baby, a golden retriever, and 4 moves in less than 2 years...I can whip up a house, dinner, draw a bath, walk the dog, and somehow managed to get into the shower with the snap of a finger. And now with his deployment coming up...I will be a full-time parent. I love him though and I love my family so I wouldn't have it any other way. We want 4 children, so I don't see things getting any easier :-)
I would love the best buy gift card...it would certainly help me buy gifts for all 4 of his brothers since we are already spending so much money to fly home to see our family this year. This is his last Christmas with us for a while (darn deployments).
Love your blog!

I think if you are a mom you are a multi-tasker. I'm a Mom of 3 kids ages 12, 7, and 18 months, plus a wife of an active duty military man who leaves us for 4-6 months a year. As if that's not enough I also go to school full time, when I can squeeze it in. I dont have time to just do one thing at a time. I wouldnt have it any other way.
ahciprich@aol.com
I like to think I'm a multi-tasker, but I'm to busy to think about it.
dlhaley{AT}hotmail{DOT}com
I'm all about multi-tasking. It's just how my brain works. I try to pair things together that can be done together. Plus, I use TV as a reward. I can't watch my fav shows until things are done. Just try keeping me away from Grey's Anatomy!
There's no way we can survive these days without being a multitasker! I really need a good laptop to help me do that. Otherwise, I'll never get to watch tv again, LOL.
I think Mom stands for must often multitask. That was lame but seriously. Or for real as my son says. School, cub scouts, being a wife, house work, dinner, decorating, Christmas in general. This stuff isn't going to take care of itself! amandaandandy@yahoo.com
I am not a multitask er. I'm a list maker and I have to do one thing at a time. Cross it off, head to the next thing. Otherwise, nothing gets done well.
Well, I am definitely a multitasker, and a major list maker, but have no wonderful tips... just keep on going ;)
Thansk for the chance to win! What an amazing prize!
Sara
List maker here. One thing at a time. Usually. m.podoll@comcast.net
I have to multi-task to care for my family. It just takes lots of list making and thinking ahead, i.e. no procrastinating allowed. Alice
stephensons4 at embarqmail dot com
unfortunately i'm not a multitasker
When I multi-task, I usually end up doing a mediocre job on all of things I'm doing. I am, however, a constant list maker. I make lists for even the most ridiculous tasks, but it feels so good to check them off! :)
carrieoverman@gmail.com
born full blown multi-tasker. I always got to be doing SOMETHING.. ever since i was a kid. I rearranged/repainted my own room soo many times.. why do i multitask? beacause i like it done my way by me haha. Lists make it helpful.. but somtimes unbearable. :)
botkinfam@gmail.com
Is there a way to live without multi tasking? I have a calendar, lists and even charts. I use my calendar most of all and it ends up being somewhat of a diary. At the end of the year I look at the calendar and wonder how on earth I was able to do so much! It helps me realize that multi tasking is doable and I actually did accomplish something this year!
Definitely a multi tasker! I dont' any mom who isn't though. Isn't that in the job description of wife & mother? LOL
I'm with you though, my kids come first. Everything else can wait. The one thing I do though is haul my sewing machine or cutting mat out to the family room so I can be with the fam and still cut out projects or sew while we all watch a movie. I get alot done that way☺
lemonylisa@yahoo.com
multitasking...what's that? right now, my pregnant brain doesn't like me multitasking. However, i try my best and I still do a better job at it than my husband (like he can't take care of the kids AND do housework;).
paulandkristen at gmail dot com
I am a multitasker and I tend to be a HUGE fan of doing thing during naptime for my son. He's been slowly easing off his naps though so I'm not sure how I'll get it all done, I try to do a lot when my husband gets home from work and is spending quality time with my son. It will be interesting to see how we do it with TWO!
The key to organized multi-tasking is prioritized LISTS!!
I multi-task way too much. I have to slow down with that, though. My brain has started getting distracted to easily, and I forget some things which should be high priority.
