well, first off hello! so nice to meet so many of you! i got to chat with a few of you (um, those of you that have your email attached to your comments sure make it easier to correspond with! hint hint to the rest of you.) ;)
yes, yes...i'll pick someone (rather random generator will) and i'll give you something. probably later today...i'm still working my tail off trying to finish next weeks challenge for sytyc. i think it will turn out cute. i hope. and i have my son's birthday to prepare for. so for now here's a mini tutorial of a holiday wreath i made last week.
this is just one of the holiday-ish project i've been working on. how many more i will be able to completely finish in time to show you...i don't know but i'm just knocking them off one at a time.
if i were to be able to pick how my christmas tree would look like, it would have these three colors on it. granted yes, it looks like it belongs in the book how the grinch stole christmas
. but those are my colors at the moment!
how i created this wreath is basically the same way i created my pine cone wreath, except this time i used 2 packages of these little foam balls i bought at tai pan. i lightly spray painted the foam wreath green.
and of course just like the pine cone wreath it took some time and patience. i only burned my fingers like 10 times with the hot glue, but now instead of actually "swearing", have resolved to using the phrase "oh swear word!" it works just as good. thanks to the nice gal pal that i heard using that phrase at church the other day. i laughed pretty hard and thought i would give it a whirl. go ahead you know you want to as well.
and there you have it, a holiday wreath worthy of being part of the "how the grinch stole christmas
" scenery.
we'll talk soon.
;)

love it, and love the pine cone one as well.
Simple yet beautiful!
This is so pretty! And, I love the pine cone wreath, too! I have a black door and nothing (I like) shows up. I love my red berry wreaths and haven't found anything that I like that shows up better. These are PERFECT! Thanks for sharing!

I absolutely love that wreath, and the colors are awesome. Very cool!!!
I also like your replacement phrase when burning fingers, I'll have to keep that in mind for the future. Ha!
I'm so glad you posted this! I wanted to do a wreath like this, and Martha has a tutorial, but she had you glue pins to the bottom of each ball to secure it to the wreath, and I didn't really want to do that! This is much better:)

that is so pretty and sparkly-I wish I could find stuff like that so cheap--i'll have to have my mom keep an eye out after Christmas in the states! I for sure wouldn't be able to get it done before Christmas---or maybe....I could....
I really like it. I love your new phrase also! It makes me smile. I use traditional Christmas colors to decorate with too with a bit of blue thrown in.
Nicely done. I love those colors too.
I wish I had a tai pan (never heard of that) oh ya and a tree that produced those miniature pine cones ... like your does! :o)
Have a great day!

Beautiful wreath. My daughter always found the swear words enticing...I used Pasta Fazool!...For the longest time, she thought this was an actual swear word instead of an Italian dish. I would yell, Pasta Fazool! and she would say, "Quit swearing at me."
I absolutely love that! My kids and I were going to create something like that using gumdrops....but yours gives me another creative idea. Love it!
Love this...just wish I knew where I could get some of those little balls...small rural Georgia...too bad some don't sell supplies on etsy for us folks who have no great stores in theie town.
Saw your other wreath and loved it also...you have such cute things!
I love it!
I saw some little balls like that the other day and was wondering to myself how on earth I could use them... now I know. Thanks!
super cute! I NEED to get up to Tai Pan asap!!!
I actually think that we live really close to each other, I have been following your blog for a long time, and didn't have any idea where you were from.
Then on a recent post with a comment about going "up north" I realized you must be from somewhere in a 50 mile radius from me. I have never heard anyone that isn't from around here say that!
anyway, I just thought it was interesting :)
What is Tai Pan? I'm wondering if they have these little cuties available online? I'd love to do a wreath like this one!
Thanks!
i love the wreath!!! it's awesome...and i'm totally stealing the "oh swear word" phrase...my toddler has picked up EVERY bad word i mutter...heaven forbid he'd learn some other new words!! :) have a great weekend!!
That is beautiful and it does sort of remind me of the Grinch. Must be the colors, but it is gorgeous and sparkly.
Love it, I might try that...I need something for my door.
Hey there!
I LOVE the wreath. So much. Tai Pan needs to open an online store...or perhaps you could "hook a sister up?" ;)
I soo need some of those little balls!
Thanks for sharing. BTW, my brother in Iraq LOVED my camo turkey (from your pattern) He and his buddies had all sorts of fun posting funny pictures with it.

Since I tossed my berry wreath last year (tired of picking up red berries all year) I am in the market to make a new one. Thank you so much for the great idea! It is gorgeous!

Oh that is too cute! And you are too funny! You're gonna make me go get a picture of my tree and post it now! I just posted some things I've made and you should be able to tell from that but.....I totally have a Whooville Tree!! Bright red green and white! Topped with a funky looking star and decorated with all sorts of odd ball ornaments!
Now to make your wreath to add to my "Whooville" decor....
THANKS!!
Not that I ever swear...ahem. But maybe if I started saying "oh swear word" my 9 year old wouldn't exclaim "Da**it!! I can't find my book anywhere." when the home teachers are over. Nice, I know. You're probably jealous of that moment in my life.
I love this wreath and the color also!!
Hugs,
Liz
Love the wreath! and I have a church friend who says gal pal too. Everytime I hear that, I think of her. haha
Happy Friday!
I guess I am going to have to jump on the wreath train after all....I love this one!
It's so shiny and GLAM! :D I love it! You make the cutest things, seriously.
Oh my gosh, I love it!

Oh my gosh! That is so pretty!!!! It looks great! And I love the "oh swear word" part! I'll have to pick that up! hehe
I love it! I've never heard of Tai Pan, though - I'll have to do some Googling. Thanks for all your great tutorials!
You had me at glittery! I love how it sparkles.
I love that!!! I wish I knew where I could find some cute little balls like that!!!!
Nice to meet you. Thank you for the tutorial. I really love your blog.
kisses from Spain

looks like those little chocolate balls wrapped in foil!
I love green - so my heart is fluttering seeing all that green!
WOW is that amazingly beautiful!!!
you continue to amaze me and inspire me. you are BRILLIANT grinch and all. ♥ rachel
Love it!! Great idea "Oh swear word" I may mention that in a YW lesson this coming new year!!
This has to be one of my favorite wreaths out there. And I LOVE the color. And that tree...well, that was a special tree :)
Oh the glittery goodness... love the bright green, and the sayin' aint so bad either ;-) LOL
So cute! Our favorite swear phrase is now "son of a biscuit eater!" Works well with little ears around, you know! Have a good one. Jenn
Wow! That is simply beautiful
I wish I had the patience for your wreaths, but I tend to burn myself WAY more than 10 times with a glue gun with any given craft.

I love it and your creativity. You amaze me with the many projects you come up with.
what a fun idea! ive seen those small foam balls and wanted to make something cute with them. im totally going to try this!
OMG! I love this and will have to try it...soon! Like probably after Christmas... haha... Have a happy day.
that is the most "awesomest" wreath ever. is that really a word. great job!
Your wreath is absolutely stunning.
And I almost peed myself when I read about "Oh, swear word!" Hilarious!! I will be putting that into practice because often my language leaves much to be desired.
That is so "oh swear word" cute! And you (and most of the commenters) said "balls." heh heh
Yes, I had a son in middle school when Beavis and Butthead were on TV. Why do you ask?
Love your wreath. I'd like to make one with my granddaughter.
Pretty Pretty!! :)
Next to light blue, this is my favorite color! So cute!
absolutely lovely!!!You are quite the talent! Happy Holidays!!(and thanks for sharing such wonderful projects!)

Oh, lovely, so lovely.
HoHoHo...
ooooo! adorable!
And yes, burning my fingers with a hot glue gun is one my LEAST favorite crafting consequence. Last week it happened 3 times. "oh swear word!"
Cute stuff miss V!
What a gorgeous wreath. Wow. So perfectly perfect : )
I LOVE that! I wish I could find those green balls though, I am far from Utah! Have you seen anything like them anywhere else?
I love this wreath! Especially the red and white ribbon. Where did you get those green balls?
picinichml@yahoo.com
I always say, "Oh bad Words." It is just as satisfying as cursing, but if my 3 year old hears me say it, he still tells me it's not nice! Must be the tone of voice! Love the wreath!
LOVE IT!
Cute cute cute. I can't keep up with you. Where do you find the time to craft and blog and get ready for Christmas? I've crafted nothing for Christmas. I blame it on the two-month-old. He keeps thinking he's hungry and poopy. Or it's the four-year-old's fault. He breaks everything. ;) Anyway, that looks good, V.
I love this!!!
This is beautiful! I want to make one!!! I don't live near a tai pan!!! What can I do??
P.s. I love your pillow on sytycc!
Oh how I LOVE Tai Pan!! I wish I lived near one...someday...
I love the red and white ribbon you used. Where did you find it?
tfallbeck@gmail.com
My friend introduced me to your site - wow! You are one talented lady - your color scheme is totally right on! Anyway, I wanted to make this wreath for Christmas, but with a brand new baby...I didn't do it...so I've decided to make a twist on it for Valentine's Day - I am going to try to find pink and/or red balls and do the same thing! I will be sure to take a pic (if I get it done) and send it to you...wish me luck!
