V and Co: happy valentines day

happy valentines day.
here is a pretty picture

and then here's what my real life looks like:
the daughter brought this home and she explained it says:
"i love bows."
"i love hearts."
and last but not least:
"i love flowers."

sorry sweetie:
 that says "i love fart."
but we'll let you think you wrote flowers. for now.

i'm keeping it in her keepsake box to bring out when she's a teenager and brings home boys.
happy valentines day!

edited: the husband bought me roses and had the florist write "...wanted to make sure i got you some farts."
i think this is going to stick.

tomorrow i will have  the how to appliqué your dresden plate and what to put in the middles.
we'll talk soon!!! :)

That is so cute! I'm sure one day you will pull it out and she will be so embarrassed. I just finished a mini dresden with your line and was just thinking about what to do with it :) I guess I will know tomorrow!

Nothing like Mom to bring a teenager down to earth! Nice planning ahead Vanessa!

Ha! That's awesome. Some things are just instant "save for laters," aren't they? :)

So funny! My first grader brought home a story and one sentence had 'IT' but her it had a 'T' at the beginning...hehe
I didn't show hubby until after she went to bed because I knew he wouldn't be able to keep the snickering in ;)

Thank you for the chuckle! Nothing like stashing a little bribe material for later on...

Love it! "I love fart" I think that is the best valentine poem ever!

maybe she asked one of her older brothers how to spell 'flowers' and they decided to have a little fun with her... :)

Be sure and save it for the "bad boy" she will eventually fall for...trust me, I've been there! ;D

Aw... Just tell her that, when you're a princess, even your farts smell like flowers. ;-)

I couldn't figure out how to leave a comment on today's post -- I totally relate to your 7-boy sleepover chaos. We did that for my son's 12th birthday party last month and I swear my husband and I both had post-traumatic stress syndrom for weeks afterwards.

I can't WAIT to see how you decorate the centers of your Dresden plates. The 3-dimensional fabric flower you posted today is really intriguing!

Have a great weekend!

Love it! My first grade son was doing a worksheet on states of matter (solid, liquid, gas) and for the gas picture he drew a picture of a stick figure "having gas". My husband and I laughed for days! My son said it was the "only kind of gas I know."

Really good post!

How fun to be "in with the in crowd" when one of those old family stories comes up - ie. whenever somebody buys "farts'" for a special occasion. Ha! Love it! N
