V and Co.: friendship quilt along block # 31

welcome to my turn to the friendship quilt along. if you have been following this whole time  and have been making the quilt as we go, welcome to the next one!
if you are just hearing about it, it's okay i think i'm going to make this quilt this summer when i have a little more down time. maybe we can make it then together. if you've been making them make sure you place them in the flicker group

mine is block numero 31. follow the link to get the full instruction on how to make it.

i chose to make my block out of my simply color pink ombre.

i kind of have this thing ombre.
find how to make these onsies here .

... and for pink.
find how to make this appliqued bag here.

...and well these days....

...i guess i have a thing for hearts as well, as you can see in my i heart you pattern. :D
find the i heart you pattern here.

but before you think i only have a thing for pink i also have a major thing for all colors:
as you can see in my first fabric line simply color and the second line coming this july simply style.
i must confess though i am a huge sucker for green, blue, and gray. those are usually the things that catch my attention first, then of course anything that goes well with those is a love too...so uh... yeah... i guess i like a lot of colors. :)
(ahem, excuse my awesome organizing...i'm in the middle of trying to fill up my newly installed bookshelves in my office, and i am doing quite a good job at it if i do so say so myself color coordinating and making it look yummy.)

anyways here's my block again in my ombre pink fabric:

and here's the links to all the other designers playing along:

I also must have a thing for squares - so far the two full sized quilts I have made have included squares made up of different strips - a jelly roll might help me make more lovely squares. The quilt I am working on now is more chevron shaped and I'm excited to branch out into new territory.

Hi Vanessa,

Oh I love love love your fabric lines. for the first time in my sewing life I bought a yard of nearly every fabric a whole fabric line. and wherever I go people ask me where I got that bag, clutch or fabric. Especially the greens and turquise. Is the green in simply style a different one? It looks lighter in your picture.

So, now the important things: For sure I want to win a jelly ombre roll! I already have three of your new pattern (love the bag and pouches) and even when I'm new to quilting I would love to try the kaleidoskope Quilt.

Best Wishes Barbara

My favorite shape in a quilt is probably triangles or hexagons, but I haven't been brave enough to do hexagons yet.

My favorite shape in quilts is stars! Thanks for the chance.

What was the second question? Oh, yeah - shapes! My favorite quilting shape has to be a square. Boring, maybe, but so versatile. You can combine it in so many ways - vary the size, color placement, add other shapes and make cool designs!

I guess my favorite shape is a pinwheel.

Yes, Honey- you ARE cool like that!
Your designs are wonderful- love the colors and fabrics and threads! Love it that you made a block with four hearts- that is great- It would make a great gift for a friend, or someone who's helped you through a rough spot- (block made into a pillow idea). or just one heart square made into a pincusion, or sachet. I like squares as my favorite shape in quilting- Like four patches in contrasting light and dark. Simple, yes, but oh so versatile.

My favorite shape in a quilt is probably the triangle, but I love many a quilt that doesn't have a single triangle in it!

My favorite shape? I've never thought about it. Maybe diamonds? But I like circles too. Oh, and feathers... in quilting, of course. Thanks for the chance again, to win.
