dear husband,
as you already know we are fast approaching our 12 year anniversary.
and as you already know because you have been married to me for so said years...you know that i'm kind of hard to shop for on these occasions.
so here's my list of things you could get me and i would be totally happy with:
1.) a new house that looks like this. or you could just remodel our 1970's bungalow to look like this house as well. i'm not too picky...either one will be fine.
or you could:
2.) buy me that nice suv i've had my eye on.
no more would be the days of watching the odometer reach unsightly #'s past the 150,000 mark.
and days of me parking around the corner from our house so no one will see me coming out of our trash mobile.
and we could kiss goodbye the days of asking family and friends prior to entering our mini van if they in fact have made sure their immunizations are all up to date, and to sign a release form anyways, "just in case"
or if those two things fall through you could always
3.) buy me
Friends - The Complete Series Collection and i know it's $154.99...but...look at what a savings it would be not buying a new house or car! i mean whats $155 when we were just talking millions and thousands?
or there's always this:
4.) for a whopping bargain of $75 you could get me 30 Rock: Seasons 1-3
so you pick...whatever you get me from this list would be awesome and i will truly love it!
love you tons,
that wonderful thing you married almost 12 years ago.
did you all see how i did that? yeah i'm a genius.
v and co loves her sponosors and welcomes newbie janey mac!

Happy Anniversary! I hope you get EVERY item on your list! :)
Now THAT's the way to get exactly what you want! He can't go too cheap from your list but he probably doesn't want to shoot too high and raise the bar for future anniversaries. I hope you enjoy your new car then! Surely he will pick up on your subtlety. ;) Happy Anniversary to Mr. and Mrs.!
Too funny....and Congrats on the anniversary...!!
Here's wishing you get one of the things off your wish list. Congrats on 12!!
Oh that was GOOD!! Very GOOD!!!
I so need to remember that.

Happy 12th! That is super genius... And since my birthday is coming soon, I'll be taking a page out of your book. Genius ;-)
All options work for you ... smart woman! Happy anniversary!
Happy anniversary! (And if it makes you feel any better, I'm watching my car's odometer tick past 200,000. Hubby's driving the older car, but it's got 150,000+ miles itself.)
Happy Anniversary V! I also have a car that has an odometer with the same number. LOL, if it's any comfort to look forward to, we have been married 20 years. : ) So you see, the high odometer follows you into future years.
That house it to die for. i hope you get it...someday :) Happy anniversary! I hope it's great.
I will have to remember this "trick" when our anniversary comes next month! Good one!
I just found your blog, and I LOVE IT!!!! Thanks for inspiring me!
Very smart woman! Congratulations on 12 years with your man! We just celebrated our 12th year of wonderful and fantastic marriage March 12th! I would not trade him in for a new model for all the money in the world!!!! (Well????) Just kidding! LOL!

Happy Anniversary! I hope you get your heart's desire for your anniversary! My 24th anniversary is coming up (although my husband and I have been a couple for 30 years now!) - where does the time go? Look at how far we've come from being that starry-eyed young couple! For our anniversaries we have always purchased "family" or "house" gifts (we both really have everything we need)- luggage, our silverware, family vacations, a Weber Performer grill (one of our favorites), patio furniture to name a few. It's always fun figuring out what the gift will be this year.
Smoooooth! He's sure to pick one of the four! He's smart like that I know! Have a great anniversary! Hope you have a ton more. Jenn
You are hilarious! I'm so using this technique next anniversary.
Congrats!
PS- I agree that all 10 seasons of Friends is a must.
Hey, hey, hey... that's MY house and MY car! Well, I want it to be. T's and my 20th is coming soon... maybe you could loan me your list? I promise not to spill anything it or use it as a coaster for my coffee.
Happy Anniversary!!!
xoxo,
Liz Lemon
Smooth!
Happy 12 years.
Happy 12 years!
But does your Hubby read your blog? He better. Here's to hoping you get the whole list!
happy anniversary...dave and i are coming up on our 17th so i'll have to use your wise tactics up there. except for i'd really just like one of those two things that are first.
I love your list for your husband. I was listening to a talk by Dr. John Lund on content communicating (owning your own words). His wife said if you say 'surprise me', then be gracious when he gives you whatever (that you really hate!) If you content communicate, then give him a list and be surprised at which one he gives you... (then go out and buy the other things on the list...well, maybe not the house or car!) ha! ha!
you are too funny. I hold out for the house!
And your van didn't look THAT bad. :)
I like that Suv as well, my 1996 town and country just died for the 3rd time so I'm letting it RIP. I would definately choose something like that as well but I'm afraid we would need more room with having 3 kids. We already have one small SUV so I guess I have no option but to get the bigger car. Happy Anniversary, great wishlist!
Congrats! I also asked for all ten season of friends . . .months ago he ripped them from someone at work and they are on an external hard drive . . . needless to say, I haven't watched any of them! :( I am still working to get the actual discs. I hope you have better luck :)
haha that's great, you clever gal you!
This comment is late in coming:). I just bought the complete Friends series DVD's, including the Final episode DVD for my husband. It's on his long term wishlist as well, we're BIG Friends fans, it was part of our courtship:). He's on his 3rd deployment in Afghanistan right now and DVD's are always great. I bought all of them for $35 at a Garage sale. It might be a good one to look for...
