changes...

moving things around (bonnie did i do better?)

a little cluttered, but i still think i like it, i think i like the cluttered style! (okay i took down the wreath cause it was too cluttered...looks better!)

okay so after that picture of katies room a couple of posts back i realized i hated the layout of her room, so i moved things around...do you think it looks better? i'm still have to paint her dresser white (and distress it) and then i think if i put a light cream on the walls or tan i think her room will be a little closer to what i envision...oh and that little bit of fabric on the table instead of the quilt i think (well once i sew it into a little table topper) will make the room cuter. also a friend of mine is going to show me how to crochet a rug out of fabric, and it'll be round so i think i'll put in under her little table in the middle of the room so the table doesn't look like its floating in the middle! what do you think? do you like? i think i do!
OH! and i think i might be getting my armior (what is the right spelling for that anyways?!) i'm trying to barter with a gal here in town who bought a hotel and changed it to her house ( i know! it's huge!!!) but with it came a ton of armior (there's that word again!) and i have a car seat ( you know those rediculously expensive ones that are high end) that is still in the box and i think she's wanted to barter with me! wooooohoooooo!!!!!

Hi Vanessa...I am sorry I haven't been commenting for a few days. I had a house to stage and it was a nightmare but that is another story. Anyway we are leaving for Italy on Saturday for three weeks and things are starting to gobble up all my time. But I just wanted to make a few comments on Katie's room

You made the exact change that I would have recommended with the little table. Most of us tend to leave a big open space in the middle of the room and we don't need to. In fact, filling that void is a great idea and it makes the room more interesting. One of the design principles I learned is that meandering pathways are more interesting that straight pathways. It is true if you think about it.

I also agree that the wall with the wreath was a little crowded and it would look better without it.

I love all the things you and done and all your accessories are so cute. Another idea you could try sometime is keeping the crib in the same place but putting it on the diagonal. It is fun to use the diagonal in a room whenever you can as it just makes the eye move around the room in a different way. It would probably require moving other things as well but it can give you a whole new look. I think it could be cute with the little netting you have on the crib.

I love to use the diagonal and angles in rooms with dressers and also with armoires. It really can soften a room.

I was thinking what might help you like the TV set up in your room is to place a silk green plant on the dresser that is taller than the bowl you have on the dresser opposite the TV. It needs something taller there for a better balance and scale. Using three things there with a little bit shorter thing in the middle would be good. I hope you can get your armoire.

Part 2...I just looked at the pics again and see you are already using the angling with the dresser in Katie's room. Awesome! Also on the TV dresser you can just move lamp to the other side and then put a shorter green plant in the middle but a l little closer to the plant that the TV so it doesn't just look like three things in a row. Does that make sense?

Cute cute cute! I love moving furniture around, but there won't be much opportunity in this house. Everything fits just so... no spare room!
