I'm so excited Its finally my day to reveal the block I made for The Splendid Sampler! When I chose this block
Each week two 6″ block tutorials are posted on the Splendid Sampler website. With the total of 100 in all!! Also if you didn't already know. This block, well actually all 100 blocks are in a book
and I don't want to brag or anything but check it out:
Did you see that... YUP!!! I'M on the cover. THATS RIGHT! So what if its half dangling/cut off. I totally feel like Mike Wazowski
TOTES Proud about being on the cover!!!
AHEM.
So.
I got to play around with Little Miss Sunshine by Moda Fabrics to make my block:
I chose 4 fabrics. I wanted them to coordinate but I also wanted to highlight the star in the middle. Like the star, we as individuals have many people and loved ones that surround us and protect, help and love us. My block highlighting the star in the middle was my representation of this concept. Please go check out my block construction here

New V and Co Quilt Patterns and Sale
Yay! I'm so excited to show you what we have been working on over here! We have a total of 6 new patterns! 3 full sized quilts, 1 mini and 2 full sized quilts using our V and Co. Ombre. (please ask your moda rep to show you the Ombre its a basic!)
We are offering a 30% off all PDF files now through the end of the week. (sale ends 9/4 at midnight) Just insert SPEC30B at check out!
Lets start off with Nana's Afghan:
Uses the whole color scheme of the line, and is a pretty easy quilt to put together
The pattern comes with step by step instructions (traditional piecing) with color diagrams and images.
Next we have Court Jester:
This quilt uses all of the water color stripes from the collection with a splash of the green HST print.
We used 7 colors/fabrics in this one so it has a lot going on! Give it a try in all solids or less colors and this quilt will have a completely different look!
Court Jester Measures at 64” x 72"This pattern includes step by step instructions with color illustrations, pictures and diagrams.
Buy the pattern here
Now I don't want to be rude and say this next one is my favorite in fear to hurt the other quilts feelings…but... here's Aunt Rose's Garden my favorite new Spectrum pattern:
Just using three of our collection she's a beauty and a classic.
The quilt measures at 70" x 86"
This quilt pattern includes step by step instructions, color diagrams and images.
Traditional piecing method.
And yes I know the whole mini quilt thing has been a big deal for a while, but we finally jumped on board and we are introducing our first stand alone mini pattern Parasol mini:
Measuring at 18" x 18" each square is 4" each. And just so dang cute.
I can see why the whole mini quilt thing is a thing. Its fast and satisfying and did I already say cute?
This pattern includes step by step instructions with color illustrations, pictures and diagrams.
Traditional piecing
And like I mentioned before we are so excited that the V and Co ombre is a basic! So we are continuing to make patterns using this wonderful fabric!
Hang Ten uses 8 of our 20 ombre fabric.
But because there are about 5-6 shades in each of these fabrics, the color range makes it look like you used way more than just 8 fabrics. We cut the fabric length wise so each of the strips looks like you are using solid fabric and not ombre.
The outcome was pretty. And this is going to be one of my favorite go to quilts, when we get into cooler weather. Not only will it keep me war, it will cheer me up with the fun colors!
Finished quilt size is 63" x 72"
This pattern uses V and Co Ombre Fabric with Moda
This pattern includes step by step instructions with color illustrations, pictures and diagrams.
Foundation pieced.
And last but not least we have Prism:
Finished Size 68 1/2" x 85 1/2"
This pattern uses V and Co Ombre Fabric with Moda
This pattern includes step by step instructions with color illustrations, pictures and diagrams.
Traditional piecing
Don't forget to add SPEC30B for 30% off all PDFs!
Now for some fun:

Spectrum Fabric by V and Co. for Moda Fabrics
Well hello! It's been a while I know. I took a bit of a hiatus. Sometimes you have to do that. After a bit of time with health type things hitting our house we decided, it's okay to step back and say "hold up, what's important here?" The answer was FAMILY. Family is what's most important. So with that, I decided to take a few steps back, simplify a few things in my life, and hire a couple of wonderful women who contract their time to V and Co. They have made it so I could focus on my family at this time. So while V and Co. used to be V (me) and Co. (my children around my ankles) for so long, now its me and two wonderful women who will continue to make things happen… at a slower pace but still making things happen. :)
So enough about that. Lets get on to what's happening here:
Introducing Spectrum with Moda Fabrics (please contact your moda rep to order). Your local quilt store and favorite online store can now see and start placing orders for this fabric line. The ship date for this line will be January 2017. Which seems like a long ways away, but actually it's only like 4 months away. Oh dear heavens, we will be in the dead of winter in 4 months! Ugh!! No happy thoughts!!! What better way to brighten up the drab horribleness of dead of winter (do you think I might have a thing against winter?) than this lovely group of fabric?!
Lets talk a little about it shall we?
Its a smaller line it has 30 fabrics all together.
And you'll have to take my word on it…its a must have for your stash.
Doesn't it look like a party?? Wouldn't this be perfect to get in January when all you want to do is live in sweats and eat triple chocolate chunk ice cream from the carton while watching netflix because its just so darn depressing and cold. (again I may be a little bias and hateful towards the cold) And no I didn't just describe my winters…I was just asking for a friend. Wait was I asking? ANYWHO!
My absolute favorite are the Text (yep that's my writing) and the little triangles…they come in color…and are so cute...but lets gush a little on the low volume ones:
What's written on the fabric you ask? The text is yard measurements converted to inches. So you know how on a pattern is says "cut 2/3 of a yard" and most of the time I'm fine and I'm like yeah 2/3 of a yard is 24 inches, but lets say you're cutting at like 11 pm at night and you're a little tired and honestly you shouldn't be cutting fabric but you want to get it done…take a look at your cheat sheet fabric with all the measurement conversions! You are welcome you can thank me later.
And do you notice anything about this collection?
If you said that Spectrum goes beautifully with our V and Co. Ombre, you are correct!!! With the ombre being a basic, you can always have your local quilt store or favorite online store restock them, so go ahead and use them up and just buy more to replenish the pretty on the shelf…and PSSSST I have more patterns coming for ombre as well!
Sooooo, are you excited to see the patterns?? That will come on Monday and I promise to have a nice Giveaway and a discount on all PDF patterns.
I'm a little excited about showing them off…and we finally jumped on the MINI quilt craze with our first ever stand alone mini quilt pattern. :) See you Monday!SaveSave

Introducing Designer Bundles of Bella Solids
Hello! How has summer been treating you? Mine has been a blur I must confess! Every day I get in bed exhausted, just to wake up to do it again the next day. We've had camps upon camps and have been working on boy scout merit badges up the Ying Yang! But there is something quilt related (okay there's a bit more than just one something but you'll see that in September.) But right now I want to focus on this.
A few Moda Designers were asked to put together their own Bella Solid bundle…So I went to town and picked a few of my favorite colors to work with (ahem do you notice how gorgeous these bellas would go with our V and Co ombre??
So I had some fun!
I took the bellas from my bundle and used it in my Endless Summer Quilt. And even though it uses yardage instead of the cute fat quarter bundle, it is pretty and I really can't wait to make one in real life. :)
Then I had fun and made up our Rush Hour Quilt
And it looks great in the bella solids!!!
And here's some fun facts: go to my Instagram account and enter to win this pretty bundle
And then go to the Moda cutting table for a chance to win one of the other designer bundles as well!
